In the GitHub page it says that the Intel 3165 card is supported by this kext. I installed it on /S/L/E, I can see on verbose boot that it loads, but I don't get any wifi on System Report and System Preferences - Network. Any help?

I think you forgot to read post #1.

I have a kext that identifies compatible hardware and loads and digests the matching firmware, but it doesn't yet do important things like, say, connect to a network.

Ah yes you are right. So this kext is still under development right?

I have Sierra on my laptop - Asus K401UB (Intel 6200U-12GB ram- Nvidia 940M). When I follow this guide to fix my wifi card (Intel AC7265) But when I was doing the last step on this guide - Kextunload .... My laptop suddenly restart and can not boot in to Mac anymore. I included the screenshot. Hope anyone can help me out of this problem.

This kext won't help you make Intel WiFi work anyway. The kext is not done. Read post #1 carefully.
At any rate, using kextload to load the kext in one session will not affect a reboot.

I hope you get this to work. I have an Intel Wireless 8260 and I suppose I have to do a work around with a USB-Wifi-Stick....
Waiting for full support.
Curious that there aren't more people working on this. Many newer Notebooks have Intel build-in Wifi... o_O

I have 8260 and a 3165. If you need more people to test builds when they're ready I can assist.

p.s. as a workaround I've been using my phone's USB tethering as a USB wifi.

MVM only :(

It's when the vast majority of Intel cards present on the market still are DVM.

A valid use case is people who want to put macOS onto their machine without popping in a newer/other wireless card or messing with their BIOSes.
