Radeon Compatibility Guide - ATI/AMD Graphics Cards

@tarbax: DisplayPort hubs are not supported by OS X! You'll need a true DisplayPort connection (either an active adapter or a native DP monitor) on both DisplayPorts, that's it. The two remaining displays can be connected through legacy connections (DVI/HDMI).
Btw, this restriction doesn't apply for Nvidia cards, those should support 4 displays without anything to consider. Just in case you're not limited to AMD somehow...

@bugsyraz: Thanks, I'll look into it as soon as I find the time.

is there a better alternative for the r9 280x (dual dp version) ? i want to edit with fcpx 4k. seeks that the r9 280x is lot more power hungry against my previous gtx 1060. system with GTX 1060 90W, system with r9 280x 220w both measured when the system is in idle.

Wow, and I was gonna get a second 280x.

@Fl0r!an Here are the files!
Okay... Had a quick look but I didn't find anything too obvious. port-number is different, and obviously things like framebuffer size and timings. Using it as 5K display adds "IOFB0Hz = True" property, but I don't think it's related.

Btw, your MacPro uses the framebuffer "MaguroS", in case you want to try it on your Hackintosh (will most likely need a connector patch to display anything).

How can I change the framebuffer to that?
