ah i misunderstod... i do have a standard tonymac DSDT, i thought you may have been referring to a self edited one to deal with this particular issue....
sigh
w
Place the DSDT in Clover/ACPI/Patched

interesting..... i have somehow not quite managed to keep up since clover... only just got past yosemite with sierra... yet not being quite sure why things were working...
with the tony mac dsdt in the patched folder its struggling to boot, stalling (verbose) at a different point each time...

cannot mount root error number 19
i guess i shall mount the boot drive on another machine and remove the dsdt see what happens...

i shall clone my working system as its rather fragile.... it doesn't like the sierra version of multibeast even tho its running latest system, and wouldn't boot with the appropriate dsdt in the patched folder.... as i mentioned i feel a little left behind since clover (sad old fool) and am not yet ready for a new build...

i have resorted to an off switch extended across the room to where i hang out, to manually shut the machine off... i'ts kind of amusing but ....

last night the machine clicked right through to shutdown but then went into reboot.... all the lights were off and it gave me a great light show with all of the diagnostic lights never usually seen in the dark beaming out (i wonder if there is a way of controlling this bright and various strip?).

so any further thoughts on this rather mixed up but powerful build?

thanks for the input so far..

best
W

Sorry, I didn't know that Ivy bridge processors were compatible with x58 chipset (are you sure?), there are some specific Ivy bridge tweakings in multibeast, did you try?
