I've a problem to manage CPU power Management in Sierra 10.12.0 with:
Intel ivy bridge i5 3570k - Mo.bo. GA Z77 DS3H - System Integrity Protection (fully Disabled)

Clover 3766 (with Fake SMC and AtherosL1cEthernet loaded in EFI)
System Definition: iMac 13,2

For my bluetooth TRUST dongle, i've loaded ath3k-firmware-uploader-V2 , i hope that it is uninfluential. (btw it won't precisely work... but i will fix it later)

This is the list of my FAILED attempts:
  • NullCPUPowerManagement ( new Version 1.0.0d2. or Older..) [actually i've have removed it]
  • AICP management Patch
  • ASUSAICPUPM - Enabled
  • Kernel PM - Disabled
  • VodooTSCSync 1.1 [removed]
My CPU fan won't turn on and my CPU reaches dangerous temp... config.plist uploaded in this post.
With NullCPUPowerManagement and with AICP patched the OS sometimes fails the boot (usually i need 3 attempts)
Without the NullCPUPowerManagement the OS was perfectly booting & shutting off.

What should i do? DSDT? i need deeper explanations to accomplish this.
Thanks in advance guys...

i have similar hardware configuration. Z77n-wifi + GT640 + E3-1225V2 (ivy bridge)

i just use clover default settings (r3793), everything works out of the box.

i only use fakesmc + realtek kext in EFI

Lucky you... Maybe I have just to update Clover?.. Don't know..

If the CPU fan is not coming on then check that it is plugged into the correct motherboard socket, confirm that the settings in the UEFI/BIOS are correct - Is is disabled?

If it is still not working then replace the CPU cooler. For Power management see the following thread:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/mavericks-native-cpu-igpu-power-management.128926/
Yes it is, in Bios / ML 10. 8.3 / it runs at 1300 rpm. In that OSX (USB drive) I use NullCPUpowermanagement.
The thread that you have linked here refers to Maverick, is it still useful for my Sierra OS? Was tested on Sierra? Thank you.

Your hardware does not need NullCPUpowermanagement kext - Remove it. The Mavericks power management thread is still up to date.
As I wrote, it was removed from my OS Sierra, also because it wasn't effective.
It perfectly works on my ML 10.8.3
Now I will accurately read your Mavericks power management thread. After I will try it.

some Clover revision works, some just hang up during power on

tested on my system
-----------------------
macOS 10.12.0, 10.12.1, 10.12.2 - r3786, r3793, r3799, r3899, r3974 - no problem
macOS 10.12.0, 10.12.1 - r3811, r3835, r3882, r3922 - fail, just hang up
r3859, r3923, r3944, r3948, r3979, r3961 - haven't tested

I created the Clover UEFI installation USB drive following this guide
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/how-to-install-os-x-mavericks-using-clover.125632/
Options: OsxAptioFix2Drv-64
default config.plist
EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.12/FakeSMC.kext https://www.tonymacx86.com/resources/categories/kexts.11/
EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.12/RealtekRTL8111 2.21

I think you just need to replace the network driver (AtherosL1cEthernet) to replicate my settings
attached the bootlog for your reference

@Adrian B,
Ok, I have ended the SSDT procedure, but still I don't understand if my Hack works properly.:banghead:
The system runs around a stable temp of ˜60°C but I still couldn't see my CPU fan running (that as I said before it isn't broken, it fully runs in ML 10.8.3) these are the problematic that I have encountered with the guide that you have linked me:
  • AICPUPMInfo & AppleIntelInfo Kext wouldn't load/work in S/L/E.. due to this "File owner/permissions are incorrect (must be root:wheel, nonwritable by group/other)" Screenshots at the end of the post.
  • In the preparation of the Ssdt , ssdtPRGen.sh hasn't take the flag -w 3 Is this due to the different version of the script? mine was Beta version. The latest downloadable from the site. Log "Error gen SSDT di Terminale salvato" at the end of the post
  • in the Console I couldn't find XCPM

For more information just ask:beachball:. Thanks.

I think that your temperatures should be lower. Are you attempting any fan control with HWmonitor or any other app?
Your temps/fan issue is a strange one. You should not need to implement power management to get your CPU fan running. I suspect that there is possibly another issue. The other option is that you have something loaded that is causing you these problems.

If this is a reasonably new installation I would consider re-partitioning the drive and creating a fresh install.

For the ssdtPRgen.sh use the following guide:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/quick-guide-to-generate-a-ssdt-for-cpu-power-management.177456/

For Powermanagement assistance go to the thread linked and comment there - you will need to post specific items that will be listed.
