An iDiot's Guide To iMessage

Just spoken with apple again and they say that the engineers will look at it again. The senior advisor did ask if the iMac has had any repair work done on it recently... :)

Just some feedback, I followed the guide and got the contact apple issue. I have spoken with apple 3 times, every time they have been very helpful. 1st time they couldn't fix it so they passed it onto the engineering department which came back 24 hrs later stating that they had removed the security block on my ID and it should work... tested it with no luck, still didn't work. Called them back and they said it had definitely been done but it sometimes take 24 hrs to work. 48 hrs later still the same message to contact apple... I have deleted the files as per the first step and still no luck. iMessage works if I long into it with my daughters account but will not work for me :(

As I said, just for feedback. (I'm going to post in the main iMessage thread too)

Thanks for a great guide :)

What a fantastic guide. Finally spent the time today to get iMessage working smoothly. I was able to receive messages but was only able to respond 15% of the time. Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial.

Thanks! This did the trick finally!

Thanks for the feedback

Please help me guys,

I am straggling with imessage-facetime for some time now following this guide, but with no result.
I get the "contact support" message, and after calling (they register my serial in the system etc.) the problem stays.

My hardware is a Thinkpad T460 with an i7-6600U.
I use a Dell DW1830 (BCM94360) for wifi and bluetooth, both work fine on Sierra 10.12.2 without any custom kexts or hacks.

My steps are:

I create a new set of smbios data in a fresh install each time. Macbook9.1 on the first and MacBookPro13.1 on the second (both Skylake).
Generate unique and unused serials, identified correctly in everymac, unknown at applecare.
Generate unique uuid's with uuidgen.
Generate MLB numbers with simpleMLBserial.sh
Use UseMacAddr0 for ROM, the laptop has both wlan and ethernet, but i connect through wlan (perhaps here is a fault?).
Double check all values with imessagedebug, they stay constant.
Make sure NO device is associated with my apple-id.
Clear the system of all config files as per this guide.

I reboot, log-in using different apple-id's and get the "contact support" message. (I have added a different credit-card on both apple-id's, iCloud, iTunes, App-Store etc. are working fine).

The problem is even after calling support and waiting for a day or two, i still get the message.

PS. I DO NOT own an iphone or any real mac.

What am i doing wrong?
Should i use an older more compatible smbios set despite the skylake cpu?
Is there an issue with my network? (i have UseMacAddr0 as rom, my ethernet is shown as builtin and En0. Wlan is En1).

Links to all of the referenced files are at the end of this first post.
Despite them being at the end of the instructions, now is a good time to download them.
