Strangely enough, I too have Paragon NTFS on my Mac. I will perform the uninstall and see if it stops. If so, you're my hero!

Maybe first time right after uninstalling you will need to boot with nv_disable = 1 (maybe first boot should completely remove ntfs driver, I don't know). Please keep it in mind.

Nope. Still just the same as before.

That's sad to hear.

Btw, this only worked for me with 10.11.4.

I've updated yesterday to 10.11.5 and this already not working.

I think that's because NTFS drives at all (one internal SSD with W10 and one external USB 3.0 HDD). Disconect them - and now it starts stable. I will try to update step-by-step to 10.12.2 to see how it works. Will keep you updated.

But strange that it has no problem with 1 monitor connected.

Hi, I've installed El Capitan again and you know what?) Same problem. And I found the root cause in my setup (which can be solved by adding nv_disable=1, of course)...

Could you please tell me if you are using Paragon NTFS? When I've installed it - problems, problems, problems... Uninstall - wow, works perfect! No more problems with GTX960.

I will try to update again to Sierra (previous setup was with Paragon NTFS) and post back.

No I have not installed Paragon. I also tried this solution from another thread, which didn't work, in my case it won't even boot without 'nv_disable=1', so I had to go back to 14.1.

Hey everybody, I managed to solve it.

put this into config.plist under "KextsToPatch"

<dict>
<key>Comment</key>
<string>(c)Pike R. Alpha</string>
<key>Find</key>
<data>
Ym9hcmQtaWQ=
</data>
<key>Name</key>
<string>AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy</string>
<key>Replace</key>
<data>
Ym9hcmQtaXg=
</data>
</dict>

and then change the SMBIOS to 15,1

I can finally boot with 2 monitors

I just discovered on my machine that FCPX will not use acceleration on a card properly if the device is named something other than GFX#. On most 100 series boards, it will automatically name PCI cards PEGP. Those cards to do not get proper acceleration. By renaming the device in the DSDT, I was able to reduce my time from 1:50 to 0:34 for an export. I was under the impression metal was just not working properly on Nvidia cards. This appears to be the cause.

Anyone else tired of people who don't respect forum rules? This is not a help thread. What's the point of the staff having tons of threads devoted to every issue if people just hijack threads with technical issues?

Is it critical that my 980ti Graphics card is Gigabyte or EVGA branded? Will an MSI 980 ti work with the web drivers? If there is a better place to post this question, please direct me to it.

Thanks.

They all use the same GPU chip so no, it doesn't make any difference what brand you use. Different manufacturers will clock differently so just pay attention to the base clock of the card you buy and get the best bang for the buck!

How do you know which driver to use? There's 2 versions listed plus the beta

Anyone update to 10.12.3 now that it's officially out?

Also has nVidia updated yet? I'm so glad they still update Maxwell drivers.

Very much uncertainty if they'll update in 10.13 (next full macOS release).
