The only thing I tell you is to make sure your Energy System Preference panel only has the Wake For Network Access and Enable Power Nap boxes checked.

Then use the Terminal command
Code:
sudo pmset -a autopoweroff 0
My sleep/wake-up works like it should with the above settings.

Stork, I realized after seeing your last post, that I also had "Put hard disks to sleep..." checked in mine, and perhaps that was causing sleep crash when using the settings above. So I unchecked it and tried your trifecta again last night. Upon doing the autopoweroff 0 command, terminal gave me a warning message, which I understand from scouring the internet may mean that I have an inconsistent sleep setting elsewhere. This morning, computer locked up again as before with those settings. Upon reboot, computer reported an "overclocking" crash. One last confession, during original install, I did not select "load optimized defaults" as indicated in the general Sierra install bios instruction portion because this was an initial install, so I assumed (possibly incorrectly) that optimized defaults would already be set.

Any suggestions? Otherwise, as I mentioned before (and for the sake of porkfoo), sleep seems to work fine if I disable "Wake for network access", disable "Enable Power Nap", and leave autopoweroff on (i.e., at "1")--still haven't had a chance to try them one by one to see if only one is causing problem.

One last question related to Hero build (but also Sierra upgrade)--auto upgrade to 10.12.2 went flawlessly--after a few seconds, Nvidia even updated the alt web drivers all by itself. Trim, sound, etc. all working perfectly. I haven't found a good guide on upgrading Clover, however. Clover wiki seems to indicate it is automatic. Question is, will it keep my existing config.plist or should I make a copy of it and replaced the new one it might make. And if that won't work, which steps should I repeat in Hero instructions (e.g., just Clover boot flags or also replace patches, etc.)

Thanks for any guidance!

First, set your BIOS up correctly. Start with Load Optimized Defaults as I documented in Post 1. Then, get sleep/wake-up working.

As for updating Clover, I'm still using 3799 which MultiBeast v9.0.1 installed. Works for me, so "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." However, I've updated Clover on other systems in the past by just downloading the latest Clover installer and running it. It will update only the needed items and won't change your config.plist. Backing up the config.plist is a smart thing to do, too. But, get sleep/wake-up working first.

I'm using same onboard Maximus VIII - i7 6700k - samsung 950 pro 512 - gtx 1060 6gb , I've installation succesfully but after that while setup after installation till ethernet settings everything is alright when try to dhcp settings it's having restart, what can I do ?

I just redid bios. Will see how extended sleep works tonight.

***UPDATE: No Crash this morning! Thanks again for all your help, Stork!

Stumbled across this thread while just researching my own hack build.
Just wanted to say I have pretty much the exact setup with exception to a 980Ti and the Broadcom wifi BT4 card. Running 10.12.2 and as far as I can tell, everything is working. Handoff and continuity as well as wake with apple watch works as expected.
Very happy with the build.

During Unigen Heaven the GPU never gets over 45C

Hero VIII,
6700k watercooled
Dominator 3000MHz DDR4 16GB
EVGA GTX980Ti SC+ w/ Backplate watercooled
Samsung 850 EVO SSD

I wanted to move my USB 3.0 external drive from a front port the back panel port, I did that when the machine was off, but the drive did not mount and did not not show under disk utility. I swapped the usb 3 drive to a usb 2 port and it mounts fine. I also verified the usb 3 port is working by plugging in another drive. BIOS read the drive at POST.

know of any tricks to fix this?

Thanks for your very nice job! I saw in your spec that you have a skylake processor isn't it? but only the imac 17,1 definition seems to work with skylake processor...and may be usb c too. I 've tryied to force this definition with multibeast but it still stay at 14,2 so what do you think?....

I've tried to follow your method and I've a gtx 960 4gb but I can't have the driver works
I've a B150 Asus pro gaming aura wifi Motherboard with 16gb ram ddr4. The ethernet and Bluetooth work well. But the audio doesn't and I don't know why. I send you my config list and my boot log. if you can help me...

I recently noticed that my USB 3 ports are not working correctly since updating to Sierra. The USB Port increase config.plist patch doesn't seem to work either. So, I postponed fixing this problem until after the Christmas/New Year holidays because of family commitments.

That is strange. Run MultiBeast again, just changing the System Definition. Reboot, and, when you get to the Clover boot screen, hit the SpaceBar on the keyboard. Check the box for booting without Cache, and then click the Boot with Changes (or sometime like that) which is the 2nd to the last option on the page.

ok i'm gonna try and will tell you how it goes. What do you think about agpfix for my driver issue for the nvidia graphic board, because it is mentionned that the imac 17,1 has some issue without it...
Thanks again for your help.
