Impressive guide, Stork!

Noob question: after iMessage is working (per Pi1grim's guide), can I log into iCloud--or will that screw things up? (fyi, 1st install, I dozed off for a second and missed reboot and logged into iCloud before reading the line about not doing so; reinstalled properly second time)

Thanks for any help--loving Hero build otherwise!

Good to year of your success with the HERO. Yes, you can now log into iCloud once you've run MultiBeast and have iMessages working.

Enjoy your build!

Thanks Stork! Realized this morning having sleep issue... darkwake=0 doesn't appear to be working for me--if left sleeping all night, wake up to find computer frozen (nearly dark screen + non-responsive computer). There were some changes made to config.plist per P1lgrim's iMessage guide, e.g., slide=0 added to Boot/Arguments (and several other changes elsewhere I recall--e.g., "bootcamp" theme in gui), darkwake=0 and dart=0 are still in Boot/Arguments (strung together separated by a space) and SystemParameters still has NvidiaWeb key as true.

Have latest Sierra build and corresponding Nvidia web driver (i.e., 16B2657 + xxx15f03). Only other possible relevant install difference is in your guide after mounting EFI partition to add NvidiaWeb key, instructions say to mount "UniBeast USB" drive's EFI partition--I assumed this was a typo since this arises post Sierra install, so I mounted the new installation drive's EFI partition to make config.plist changes.

Sorry for multiple edits--you beat me to punch with your supper fast response!

I'll look into this more over the next couple of days. Thanks for telling me your experiences.

Good catch. You're right! That should be the "Sierra installation drive."

May have found solution. From System Preferences/Energy Saver, I unchecked both "Wake for network access" and "Enable Power Nap" last night, and this morning Hero still fast asleep. Seems to be working perfectly. Frankly, I don't need either of those features, but will add one back in tonight to narrow done culprit.

Interesting. I, too, tried an experimental sleep trial overnight, and MyHero woke up just fine with both "Wake for network access" and "Enable Power Nap" checked. However, I used pastrychef's recommendation to turn off autoautopoweroff:
...I have tested two other system definitions. (1) iMac14,2 definition would cause my system to randomly shut down on its own and sometimes waking from sleep would cause my screen resolution to change and the Displays System Preference would lose most of the resolution choices. However, Continuity worked! (2) iMac17,1 definition works well except when waking from sleep, I sometimes lose screen resolutions. Powering the monitor off and back on would restore it. Continuity didn't work for me with this definition. The CPU seems to go into and out of Turbo more efficiently with this definition, but that's just my impression, I don't have any solid evidence of this and could very well be placebo.

For those who wish to try the iMac17,1 definition, remember to apply the Black Screen with MacPro6,1 or iMac 15 or iMac 17 System Sefinition fix. Scroll down to Problem #4 and choose the fix you prefer. I used Method #1 that adds a patch to the Clover config.plist. As a safety precaution, you can enable Screen Sharing so that you can re-apply the fix if an update breaks it.

Update: If you use either of these iMac definitions, be sure to enter the following in Terminal or your system will shut down on its own after 4 hours of inactivity.
Code:
sudo pmset -a autopoweroff 0
...

Hello,

I purchased MAXIMUS VIII HERO yesterday afternoon and managed to install the Sierra 10.12 macOS normally, except for the incompatibility of the RX 480 with this version. I tried to update to 10.12.1 by downloading the Mac App Store, but I ended up damaging the installation (it was already late, I must have done something stupid).

Today I downloaded the installable macOS file already with the update 10.12.1 and I made the pendrive with UniBeast. However, I'm now getting the error "macos could not be installed on your computer" after a few minutes of installation.

Do you have any idea what that might be? I already tried to install with safe mode enabled, but the result remained the same.

Thank you.

Sounds like you damaged your first installation. Using the 10.12.1 USB installation thumb drive, boot into the installation and ease you previous installation. Make sure you are using UniBeast for Sierra because the the error message you are getting sounds like the installation is for a discounted/unsupported system definition, like the MacPro3,1.

Thank you so much for the guide Stork! Just about everything is working perfectly
I'm not sure if this was written about previously, but is there a way to use the motherboards wireless card with the adapter? My computer only recognizes the ethernet port and im currently using a wireless receiver that connects to the ethernet port, but i would prefer to use the built in one.
Also In DCPI manager it says that my ethernet adapter is set to en1 not en0 and I believe that it is preventing me from getting Imessage to work. If anyone knows a fix for this please let me know.

My last issue which I am not sure can be fixed is with the storage controller. I have my Mac SSD plugged into the ASMedia port along with my other SSD for windows, and I have three storage drives in Raid 5 connected to the Intel Sata controlled since the Asus one is not raid capable. Is there a driver or kext for the different storage controllers? Currently the Mac only sees the other SSD on the same controller and not the raid array.
I'm thinking that one possible fix for this would be to move the mac SSD to the Intel storage controller but I am not sure if this will have an effect on the configuration.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Config is attached below

You must be using a different ASUS HERO motherboard because I don't have a wireless card or provision for one.
