macOS Sierra Does NOT Boot with MacPro3,1 MacPro4,1 System Definitions

So did I understand it correctly:
if for some reason I can not change to iMac14,x (since all USB ports stop working) I have no chance to use Sierra?

Is iMac14,2 appropriate for my build? I think I'm currently using macPro5,1.
Mac Pro 5,1 ia appropriate for socket 1366 boards. 6, 7, 8, 9 series boards and the new Z170/H170 boards should use iMac system definitions. Go to everymac.com and compare iMac hardware to your hardware and slecet the closest match.
In general, 14,2 will probably be the closest version to use for 6,7,8,9 series and the latest iMac for the 170 boards..

iMac 14,2 working beautifully for me. Will we see less and less systems that are supported? I mean around the good ol' Snow Leopard days every system definition worked, now it's pretty scarce.

Wouldn't say so. You're using Sandy Bridge so really you should be using 12,1 or 12,2.

Nope, it's irrelevant iMac 14,2 system definition works fine on Sandy Bridge, proof:

Not really. No genuine iMac 14,2 has Sandy bridge chipsets. Powermanagement will be messed up.

Oh thats interesting, i also got a sandy bridge and tried to run sierra with 14,2. Got this black screen issue, wich is why i'm still on el capitan now. Gonna try with 12.1 or 12.2 again then.
