macOS Sierra PB: Need testers for new AMD Radeon drivers!

Try not injecting intel first and see if you get RX booted. If it works look into this setup.

config (revod 1).plist Look at it and copy changes or add uuid and serial number and try it. You were injecting both intel and ATI which can cause problems, I also changed the 530 injection to SKL CRB because using it does not require injecting intel.

Nope doesn't work, I give up, Hopefully to see fully compatible without problem in the next beta updates, I will stick with the intel hd 530 :/

I've run 100s of benchmarks with my RX 480 and never had a problem, the fan idles when its cooled down. There is "AutoWattman" running in the 9500controller kext or 4100kext, I've seen it and there is overheat protection which will shut down the card if temps exceed limits.

this is so cool, and i will not worry about it any more, thanks

The HD 530 injection might be the problem, SKL CRB is workable without injections it is the same thing. We just went through this with the HD 4600 AML injection issue and RX 480 support. My AMD R7 265 can be recognized as a R9 270X but it requires injections and fixes. If I let it detect natively without any injection its an AMD 7XXX card without any fuss. Performance is the same, its just a name (cosmetic) but they use the same drivers.
SKL CRB valley.png It has metal support 30 bit color. Yes it has flickering in the top left like 530 without the fix, but I only look at clover screen for this connection, the top left is irrelevant to me because my screen is connected to RX during use. If it will run a Valley Extreme HD bench its not all that bad.

So what exactly is this AutoWattMan thing? is it possible to see GPU temp/fan speed? amd related codes in hwmonitor haven't been updated in ages, so rx480 doesn't work with it :( i wish mac had something like msi afterburner....

UPDATE:

I installed the 10.12.2 public beta, and left Inject Intel = true and Inject ATI = true.

FCPX 10.3 opens and runs. Valley benchmark staggers along at 4-6FPS. Graphics on the monitor plugged into RX 480 are glitchy. Video playback works fine (youtube in Chrome), but display does not look right.

I went back to the AMDRadeonX4100.kext and added 0x67DF1002 (was missing after update to 10.12.2), repaired permissions and rebooted.

Graphics work now but not at same speed as before in 10.12.1 (about 10fps slower in Valley benchmark than before). FCPX 10.3.1 crashes on open.

So editing the AMDRadeonX4100.kext is what causes FCPX 10.3 to crash I guess.

@Gigamaxx and @jerryy2345 do either of you have any insight into that recent finding?

Editing Kext without any problem! U may set FakeID ATI 0x67EF1002 and do not touch kext, for me without any problems and same fps, UI more smoother then 0x67EF1002. My card is RX480 NITRO+

So, problem with FCPX crash is more actually for me

So try in 0x67EF1002 in Fake ID ATI and remove 0x67DF1002 from kext? "EF" and not "DF"?

Keep AMDRadeonX4100 untouched , set in Clover config Devices > FakeID > 0x67EF1002. On next MacOs update u don't need edit ATI kext.

BTW, full acceleration worked with ATI and Intel flags ON.... , FCPX worked only with ATI = On

After update to Beta 5 the EF definition is working better.
I've also noticed the 67EF 1002 definition is working better for the ID change in the 4100kext. Instead of changing the EO to DF, change EF to DF and it works well after the last update.
Maybe the EO is Vega 10 or P12 and it's getting a little buggy lately due to more changes.
