Got my hackintosh up and running - but realize (in my ignorance) that when i used multibeast to get up and going, I neglected to choose ethernet and audio drivers...

So - my question is - can I boot from my Sierra USB drive again and run multibeast a second time to install the appropriate ethernet and audio drivers? Or will that somehow screw my existing install up?

Thanks!

My setup is a Gigabyte Gaming 7 Mobo, i7 Skylake processor, 32GB DD4 RAM, multiple drives

You can just boot normally and install appropriate Ethernet kext and Audio.

Just launch Multibeast, select there proper ethernet and audio drivers, click build and press install.

Or do I just drag it to HD/library/extensions...?

No. open Multibeast and install Ethernet kext and select correct audio then just install.

OK- will give it a shot. Took a quick look in multibeast and tried to figure out which ethernet and audio drivers were the right ones to choose - none of them seemed to match what I have on my motherboard. It's a Gigabyte Gaming 7 mobo. It has both Intel and Killer ethernet - in multibeast, I see lots of different ethernet options...not sure which to choose - I suppose I could just try one by one. Will multibeast allow me to remove one and try another, or does it just install and not remove?

Look at MultiBeast features included in your download with the app. It discusses your questions and more. Good to be familiar with a tool before using it... know your gun before you pull the trigger.

Wholeheartedly agree - and I am generally very cautious...in this case, perhaps too cautious, since the trouble is, looking at the docs with it, I see neither my ethernet nor my audio. My Gigabyte Gaming 7 is a pretty current mobo. Ethernet is just listed as "Intel" or Killer...not a specific protocol, so that's why I wasn't sure which to choose. Seems the AppleIntelE1000e is as close as I am going to get. Same for audio - I reviewed the mobo manual and it never mentions any RealTek protocols...so wasn't sure what to do there either.

Ideas?

In your mobo spec summary, you should find specific model #s for each piece of your board. Search this forum for the right kext for that part, and then check multibeast if it's an included kext. I'll warn you in advance, as someone did for me, your audio might be best not installed from multibeast. But it depends on your part #.

Hopefully as you read through the doc I mentioned, you saw your questions answered in regards to multiple uses and how to use the kexts, if you so choose to.
