Hello! There are chances to have ASUS ROG RX480?
Spoofing does not help. Im Correcting AMDRadeonX4001.kext, in clover add AMD FakeID, but nevertheless have a black screen.

I don't know the odds of the 460 being able to boot on your system, but I would say given everyone elses experience, they are close to zero.
I'm not sure how fast the 460 is in FCPX. Maybe someone with a 460 can do the bruce x benchmark (being sure to turn off background rendering).
RX480 (red devil) does it in around 14 seconds on a 6700k @ 4.7ghz with 64gb 3000mhz ram.
I suspect that a single 480 will be faster than 2* 460 as the scaling with multiple gpu's isn't perfect (but still pretty good), but a single 480 has 36 compute units vs 14 compute units in a 460.

For example. 1x 480 does it in 14 seconds, and 2x 480's does it in around 10 seconds.

In any case, whether you go 280x or RX480. It should be plenty quicker than the 2x GTX 460's that you are currently using.
I will be upgrading my rig to Sierra soon: 4790k, 24g Ram, r9 280x and I'm presently hovering at 15 seconds for the Bruce x test. FYI. It's a fine card.

Set IGPU as primary display.

Hi rhys, hi everyone.

I've seen u've done FCP X work, that's my primary goal. I need your help (and anyone's invited).
Digging this topic and not only ,still looking for.. u know.. maybe i didn't find, understand or seen written yet answers.

So, my understanding is your experince and others too is OOB COULD BE gigabyte RX 460 4 Gb. BUT if there is an IGPU. I don't. BUT i'm runnig yosemite pretty stable on: Intel 990X, MB: asus p6tD deluxe v2 X58 chipset, 12 Gb tri-channel memory and two (not in sli, of course) Palit gtx 460 1 Gb.
The mac is build with unibeast tools, dual boot yos/win8 (thanks tonymacs and friends).

THE BIG issue is: in FCP X when I'm starting to work (or motion) after a while the sistem freeze/halt. VERY rare in safari also.
I reckon i'm not an ace on hackintosh, but i can handle pretty much... i think.

The question(s) is:
- If i buy an RX 460 (more fitted for final cut as i see), i might be the lucky one to set it primary and have it flawlesly working?
- The (last resort) work around with one gtx 460 for boot and switch to AMD after is it possible (on DVI... DP, HDMI...)?

Thanks in advance. Any advice appreciated.

I picked up a EVGA 8400 and it works as IGPU for the RX 480
8400 RX 480 IOSREG.png
As you can see it loads both graphics devices.
8400 rx luxmark.png
LuxMark is a little low for RX 480.
valley 8400 RX 480.png
Valley is a little low as well but it works.

Red Devil has an extra DVI port so 5 ports total, and runs well with high benchmarks. It is large with three fans and needs space in your case.

Asus, I haven't seen a single benchmark from an Asus 480 on this site. If anyone has one please post a Uningine Valley Extreme HD bench?

Here some results from my ASUS ROG Strix Radeon RX 480 OC:

I have been keeping an eye on this thread but still getting confused. I am waiting to upgrade my gpu since i got 4k monitor recently, now running it with my 650ti at 30Hz. My main use is FCPX and adobe occasionally. So is RX 480 stable to use for FCPX? or How is RX 460? OOB? performance with FCPX(can upgrade to it temporarily for 60Hz 4k)? or should i go with GTX 970? I am asking a lot but, tired of slow cursor movement at 30Hz. Please help.

Set IGPU as primary display.

I have integrated video in HD2000 (Core i7 2600), my IGPU does not work in MacOS. Be sure to start the IGPU?

I don't think that matters, I have hd2500 igpu, which doesn't work either in macOS and I still successfully use the rx480.
