HP EliteBook 8x60p with AMD 6470M

Thanks for the update, do I need to select "OS X support kexts" and / or "Config and DSDT patcher" for my model? I guess I do not need to generate a new config.plist and finally do I need to do SSDT generator.

You need both, cause the usb 3.0 fixes require removing GenericUSBXHCI (done by selecting "OS X support kexts") and patches in config.plist ("Config and DSDT patcher", without selecting "Don't generate config.plist).

I'm hoping someone here can help me with my HP Elitebook 8460p with the AMD 6470M graphics card. I've successfully installed Yosemite using the guide, but no matter what I've tried I cannot get the laptop screen to work unless I disable Load VBIOS at boot-up.

For the past three weeks, I've searched and tried every suggestion I can find on this site and others, including editing the Frame Buffer values for inserting into the ATI Connectors Data & Connectors Patch portion of Clover Configurator...with no real luck on the LVDS. (I did get the display port to work, but not the VGA) My laptop has the built-in screen (1366x768, one DisplayPort connector and a VGA connector.

I'm attaching my EFI folder here in hopes that it might provide a clue as to what I'm doing wrong. I've also attached the Radeon & Redsock outputs from the video bios dump.

Appreciate any help.

Did you try InjectEDID=true?

Yes. Have tried it with and without EDID injected. No improvement.

As I have read through dozens of forum posts I see that I'm not the only one who has encountered the problem with the 6470m card in the Elitebook 8460p and other models. However, some have posted that they've gotten it to work, but nobody has written a clear explanation of how they did it...or at least not that I've found.

Lets face it, it can't be done, unless this is not a fake:
But it seems that he is unwilling to come down a level or three and provide a detailed guide or its a fake or its for switchable graphics only (once claimed not to be possible on these systems on forums like this). Here is another lead that got nowhere but claims to solve 6470m functionality but didn't work for me as it was all click and pray (obviously there more to it than replace EFI/CLOVER on install with this one) and probably for swtichable setup again and not for dedicated GPU, no guide to be seen anywhere. http://www.osx86.net/files/file/3735-hp-g6-1058er-6470mintel3000hd/

I wish you guys here would provide the answer/guide to this graphics card support or lack of support ONCE AND FOR ALL and STICKY IT! Most advice just too technicial for many but we can follow instructions like some of the installation guides found on this site. Please just make a guide for 8x60p with dedicated AMD 6470m for 10.9 or 10.10.

We are all very gratefull for all the help, but the result is to go around in circles. All the guides here for Probook/Elitebook seem to dodge support for dedicated 6470m (i.e. guide AMD only experimental in PBI but now out date choose this one which spefically excludes support only Intel GPUs), sheesh!

Dude, thanks but I see no mention of 6470m discrete (non dual Intel/AMD GPU) guide or a definitive, yes or no for HP EB 8460p with only AMD on this link. Need an install guide exclusively for systems with ONLY AMD, that work. I have reached my limit of what I can do, but I'll be up for testing! The current PBI when select AMD support for my GPU, does not allow full boot to OS for me, except safe mode with 3mb of video ram. All my install attempts with this laptop end unsurprisingly with no full working graphics and yet someone has managed it. The knowledge in the form of a tutorial in order to accomplish this goal seems as elusive has finding out who really shot JFK. I mean surely just append an existing guide.

Can't a brainy dude here work out how he did this and put it in a guide, cause it appears legit. I would paypal someone for a working guide for morons like me, seriously.

Please.

Definitive "NO". See "Q. Is there a way to make Radeon or Nvidia graphics work in my dual-GPU laptop?"

Either you didn't read carefully, or you just didn't like what you read.
