My increasingly ancient Hackintosh continues to ride!

The p7p55D-E-Pro and i5-750 are circa 2009 technology. The GTX460 is not much newer.

I upgraded directly over El Capitan and Clover using the standard instructions. After upgrading my system definition to 14.2 and also to the newest version of Clover (so I could see the Sierra install partition), the installation itself went without a hitch.

The main problem post install was the dreaded black screen of death, which needed the "nv_disable=1" boot flag in order to reach the desktop.

I tried the nvidia web drivers and a huge variety of various fixes suggested on this and other fora. I was just about to give up after several hours worth of reboots, when what finally worked I think was choosing "trusted" (using Clover Configurator) and a few other options as per my attached config.plist. As a bonus in Sierra, the on-board sound (VIA VT1828S) works out of the box without the annoying crackles I experienced in El Capitan. Great stuff!

Very good point, since I was fiddling with any number of steps and was about to give up before - hallelujah - it booted past the apple logo without needing the "nv_disable=1" clover option, into a glorious accelerated desktop.

In short, cutting out the failures, I *think* what I did was:

1. Use Multibeast 9 to install Clover (ver. 1366) using the "Legacy" quick start. System definition 14,2. Reboot.
2. On startup, you need to set the "nv_disable=1" flag on restart in Clover options to allow this one-time boot.
3. At desktop, opened EFI>EFI>Clover>config.plist in Clover Configurator.
4. Set/Tick the following options in Clover Configurator: ACPI (FixHPET, AddDTGP, FixHDA, FixUSB, FixIPIC) ; Boot (npci=0x2000) ; CPU (none) ; Devices (none) ; Disable Drivers (none) ; Gui (doesn't matter) ; Graphics (Load VBios, InjectNVidia, NvidiaGeneric) ; Kernel and Kext Patches (KernelPm, Apple RTC, Asus AICPUPM) ; Rt Variables (BooterConfig 0x28, CsrActiveConfig 0x3) ; SMBIOS (magic wand 14,2 ; Trust) ; System Parameters (Inject Kexts 'Yes', No Caches).

I'm not sure all of the above are strictly necessary, and without caches, the boot up is very slow (>2 mins on an SSD), but that's everything I've got :)

Update: have removed "Trust" and "No Caches" options, and it still boots fine, but still very slowly. If I solve the slow boot problem (? due to inject kexts) I'll report back.

Does AirPlay Desktop mirroring work for you?

For me airplay works for everything else, even youtube via Safari but the AIrPlay icon on the system tray is missing, seems like it comes and goes perhaps.

I will give it a try - thanks

Two updates:
1. It's all working with a few options removed from above: no longer using "Load VBios, NvidiaGeneric, or Trust". Have enabled caches. Removed nullCPUPowermanagement.kext from Clover>EFI>kexts. I just have FakeSMC there now.

2. Boot speed is now back to normal after I rebuilt the cache:

Code:
sudo chmod -Rf 755 /L*/E*
sudo chown -Rf 0:0 /L*/E*
sudo touch -f /L*/E*
sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel

Learning something all the time....

Don't know sorry, I'm not like all you flash kidz with multi-monitor setups ;)

Hello,

I have macOS Sierra installed on P7P55D-E PRO with Intel Core i5 750, NVDIDIA Geforce 9600 (used unibeast 7.0.1). Installation was done without problems. But I have problem with booting from my drive. Booting stuck on this messages:

prevent idle sleep list: IODisplayWrangler+ (1)
bus timeout[0], (240), kextd wait(0): 'AppleACPICPU'
considerRebuildOfPrelinkedKernel prebuild rebuild has expired

I tried to cancel "Injecting NVIDIA", changing platform iMAC or MAC pro, ... but not change. The last step is gray wallpaper with rainbow circle cursor.

Start the computer to gray wallpaper is a tooooo long operation (like 10 minutes).

Do you have some ideas what can be wrong?

Clover config attached.

UPDATE 2017-01-13: It's working for now.My motherboard had very old BIOS :)

But audio is still not working (Voodoo 2.8.8 is installed via Multibeast 9.0.1) - VoodooHDA from settings window say "No VoodooHDA Devices Detected".
