Hello! At the moment I'm working on Mac OS 10.9.5.
My system
Asus x99-a
Intel 5820k
Gtx 760
I want to install Sierra. But it turns out to install only flag nv-disable.
After installing the video card in the box About this system: Nvidia chip model 5mb.
I understand the card does not start. Installing the web drivers did not help.
Installing via clover.
Help. What am I doing wrong?

thank you for the files. using those,I was able to install and run through the setup. I've run into an issue after installing the Nvidia drivers wherein after booting, I can only see a cursor against a black background. have you run into this issue? I'm on a GTX 970.

For anyone else who may run into this issue:
I solved it by plugging in only one monitor on boot, logged in, then connected the second display on the GPU. Disabled mirroring and boom! Both displays now work even after reboot. So I'm guessing this was an issue related to mirroring.

I swapped my UD4 mobo with the newest GA-X99-Gaming 5P. What a difference! the UD4 was a real POS. The Gaming 5P does 3000 DDR4 memory with no issues and the LAN is much faster than UD4. I have everything working except for sound, but don't plan on trying since I have a USB sound card.

Next up is a new Broadwell-E in the next couple months.

Hi Lokicat,

You mentioned that your sound didn't work so you instead use a USB sound card. I've had this audio problem myself when I tried to upgrade from 10.11.2 to 10.11.3 so I'm now looking to get an audio interface (Audient ID14) to hopefully solve this issue.
Could you tell me if you had to install your sound card driver (if any) for it to work or did you use any AppleHDA or VoodooHDA kexts?..
I'm wondering if a USB audio interface that's just "plug n play" would be suffice?

Many thanks

Lokicat, I 'm using the sameboard and having some issues. X99Gaming5p, 5960x, R9-390x 32gb 3000 mem, 1TB SSD , I'M see inconsistant boot with OsxAptioFix2Drv. I can get to the install and on the first reboot I get the following

Error allocating 0x800 pages at0x000000000fa00000 alloc type 2
Error loading kernal cache (0X9)
Boot Failed, sleeping for 10 seconds before Restarting

If I power down the powersupply and wait a few seconds it will boot up and next reboot do the same thing.

Any ideas?
I'm using
AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext
FakeSMC.kext
USBInjectAll.kext
VoodooTSCSync.kext ( 8 core)

Yes, any USB audio adapter should work without drivers as long as it uses USB 2.0 or USB 1.0 audio standards. I like the Sound Blaster Omni because it it comes with a configuration utility that works with Mac OS. It also has all of the connectivity options as the onboard audio. Most important to me is that it auto routes audio between line out and headphone. I have it set to default line out to my speakers but when I plug in my headphone, it automatically mutes the speakers and routes audio to my headphones. The built in mic array works well too and the volume control feels better than using the keyboard.

I can only think of one thing - try to disable EHCI in BIOS and make sure XHCI is enabled. However you are running the 5960x which I believe requires several more patches to work since 10.11. In fact I'm not sure is 5960x ever worked in 10.11. I don't have any experience with that since my CPU is the 5820k.

I did get past the memory issue by deleting OsxAptioFix2Drv and replacing with OsxAptioFix2DRV-free2000.efi. However I'm having a issue that I'm not sure of. It installs abot 98% and then reboots. The apple logo is there and the line is almost finished. I was running verbose and still could not see it, at that point.

I did try turning off EHCI and no difference

Can you tell me which kexts you are using on your X99 Gaming5p?

Thank you that's good to know.

How do you find the sound quality of the Sound Blaster Omni?
My main usage If I got one would be for producing music with Ableton and monitoring via headphones, so sound quality would be the highest priority.
Also would you know if its capable of driving the Senheiser HD 600 headphones?

Many thanks

Sure, I've attached them here.

It appears that everything is loading. However, the video card goes black when Sierra loads. Hav eyou seen this? I was looking around and seems that the r9-390x is not a good choice for this. How do you like your 980 ti?

Lokicat, Thank you very much for the kexts
