Hey all,

I've updated my desktop to macOS Sierra GM (i7-4790K, Maximus VII Gene, GTX 980 Ti), and have thus needed to update the nVidia Web Drivers to get full acceleration out of my 980 Ti.

I have Nvidia Web Driver - 367.10.10.05b01 installed.

Now my problem is that I get the classic "black screen" issue after loading OSX. my SMBIOS definition WAS iMac14,2, and after I did some research about AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy patches and all of that, I decided to switch my SMBIOS to iMac15,1 (better hardware compatibility?)

I've tried almost everything that there was to try in these threads:

Pike's Clover on-the-fly patch doesn't work, AGDPFix.app doesn't work, various other Clover patches don't work, DSDT rename patches don't work...

EDIT: Switching back to iMac14,2 doesn't even work either ... ????

It all ends up at the same black screen (monitor signal loss)...Only way I'm able to boot and see desktop is w/ nv_disable=1...

Does anybody have any advice for me? Would be greatly appreciated! :D

UPDATE:

Graphics acceleration works ONLY in Recovery Mode for some reason! I don't know why ...

Any help / suggestions?

UPDATE:

After a couple of weeks of attempting to get this to work, I figured out why it wouldn't boot, and it was really simple ...

All I needed to do was unplug my DVI-I monitor, and everything booted up fine! :D
I wonder why it's like this though...As it was working flawlessly on El Capitan.

I will continue to investigate this further, but this a step in a good direction...

Wow, thanks for that hint! This was driving me nuts.

I have 1 monitor attached with DVI-D and 1 with HDMI. If I unplug the DVI-D one from the graphics card and then boot, the "no signal" is gone and all works flawless. I can even plug in the DVI-D one later and I can use 2 screens.

This is obviously very annoying, I don't want to go plugging cables every time I boot into macOS.

Have you had any idea/fix in the meanwhile? :)

EDIT: Tried various combinations, HDMI + DP, DP + DVI, DVI, DP + HDMI but nothing works. As soon as 2 slots are occupied on the graphics card it will not start.
