Hello,
Applause for the effort you're putting it :)

I have been searching different forums since last 4-5 hours (crazily!)
My Rig:

i3-4160 [HD 4400 not supported]
8 Gigs RAM
XFX RX 460 4GB [Sad! Labour day sale! Got it cheap]
Since there's no way to return this particular card,
I would like to know and test if there're any alternate way like loading custom vbios [no luck there with asus bios posted somewhere on the forum]
If you can provide me rom file of gigabyte 460 4gig variant along with device id,
I can test it and post results overnight.

Thanks youu!
Looking forward for your reply.

PS: This is not my first hackintosh though with AMD card it is.

I noticed you don't have hd4400 support. Running theses cards requires integrated graphics (IGFX) to be set in bios for primary display and the IGFX must be set to auto or enabled. If you can't get the IGFX working you probably won't be able to run a video card. I will check, but I believe I posted the Vbios for the Gigabyte 460 found it I believe. 0.67EF_.1002.rom.zip

Let me know if it works, I'm not sure if this is the one, I can pull one fresh from the card later tonight if need be. Load this file decompressed into the ROM folder of your clover bootloader.

does it require a fake id though?
to load custom vbios?

Edit:
my motherboard has 1 VGA port only thus hd 4400 will never work.
Since it was oob recognised as some other card in el cap and was running on HDMI without [qe/ci]
Reading that 12.10 includes device id for polaris 11 i thought this should work.. sadly xfx's custom bios..
aarghh will let you know once i test it.

They sell adapters, you may need one as we haven't seen it operate without IGFX as primary.

They sell adapters have you tried one?

1002_67ef_22d21458.rom.zip This is the one I put out for Mork last week. This is the Gigabyte 4gb model. Sorry, for the other I renamed it for loading into the ROM file and I'm not sure if its the real one, this should be.

I use my TV as monitor on HDMI
and the other monitor i have is VGA.
don't know how I am going to manage if i have to set IGFX as primary.

last one didn't work
let me try this one

EDIT:
Nope
Doesn't even show black screen
Can only boot in safe mode

EDIT2:
Does my IGFX have to have qe/ci in order to get my rx 460 working?

Connect your tv to the motherboard (primary) before you hit the enter command to boot up, switch the hdmi to the card slot and then hit enter. It will be a black screen until it gets to log in. You should be able to use your board HDMI to get in and get support if its working. It just won't get acceleration unless its connected to the card during the boot up. Do you have a HDMI port on the motherboard? If you do, use the board slot until you get the "supported" status through experimentations on/with the card and then boot with the card connected to HDMI.

I don't have a HDMI port on motherboard
only 1 VGA port.
When I boot with VGA connected AMDRadeonX4000 kext is loaded but cant hotswitch to hdmi

BEFORE you hit enter switch the cable to the card THEN hit enter. If you try switching the cable after boot you probably won't get detection to load the card bios in Sierra and won't get any results.

If you have the VGA connected to a monitor and the TV HDMI to the card you may want to try disconnecting the VGA plug before you hit enter to boot.

did the same.
but technically my bios doesn't have AUTO feature which needs to be implemented for multimonitor since there's only one VGA port.
So it will either let me use its VGA or the pcie

EDIT:
replaced my motherboard
got a new one with VGA DVI and HDMI Port
but weird thing is, still not an option to auto select output device in bios.
running HDMI and VGA from mobo to separate screens
only 1 display is mirrored on both screens.

Gigamaxx,
Thanks for the effort you are putting in this thread, but I have one question. Do I have to set iGPU as primary or will it boot with PCI-E as primary? (With the HDMI cable connected to RX 470). Also, if iGPU has to be primary, will it boot if I keep the HDMI cable connected to the RX 470?

Edit 1: I also wanted to ask, would it have full QE/CI if I left the HDMI cable connected to the port on the mobo, not the RX 470?

Thanks

My Auto selection is in the "chipset" window of the bios. The IGFX option is in the "peripherals" window. Did you check both windows in bios?
