Hello you amazing people!
Recently I've gotten myself a Y50-70. I've gotten almost everything to work except the WiFi card... I bought a Broadcom BCM94352Z thinking it will work instantly, but it didn't even go through the BIOS... When booting, after the lenovo sign shows up, a screen pops up saying: Unauthorized wirelesss network card is plugged in. Power off and remove it. I am not happy about this. Currently I'm on BIOS version 1.14. I did some research with people saying that you have to mod the BIOS and remove a white list for WLAN. Is this necessary, and are there other ways to do this?

BTW I got the card on Amazon, quite expensive...

Requires patched BIOS to defeat the whitelist.

How can I get the BIOS patched or download the patched BIOS?

You can request a bios mod for your laptop from bios-mods.com

I would get the Lenovo variant of BCM94352Z which is supported by the native BIOS, no patching required.

I think I have that Lenovo model# in the guide...

If not, someone can propose text for the guide.

@RehabMan Can we get a guide on the whitelist removal? It'll help the community! I don't really want to get involved with another forum... I'm a noob with BIOS :\

I'm not going to get into BIOS mods for a laptop I don't own.
