May be I ask a stupid question, but I was sure that this build-in Intel audio controller is a software one, isn't it? In any case when I updated BIOS everything was reset.

I'll look for someone with the sane laptop and will give it a test.

Not sure what you mean by "audio controller is a software one"... Audio not possible with software alone. It requires audio hardware to output sound through the electronics.

There are people here that have this series of laptops (EliteBook/ProBook G3 Skylake), but there is hardly any participation/communication between those that do. Good luck in your quest to round them up.

I guess that's because I don't get email notifications when you respond my posts. That's why I reply with a big delay. I have to check not just my inbox, but also tomymacx86.com for notifications. Rehabman! Thanks for a complete rundown for the ElCapitan installation. Probook G1 650 i7 HRez Off to the races! Was a sleepy afternoon project that came together quite nicely. Everything works. Wow, how easy was that?

I have tried rebuilding the cache and booting without it in tandem multiple times after uninstalling and reinstalling the driver and utility.

I recently realized that it works with any closed network of which I know the credentials. It works with my phone's hotspot for instance since I need to type a password to get on it. Any open WiFi that may have a captive portal behind does not connect.
