Seems like bluetooth is still dying upon wake, even without AFT
Man, Yosemite really was a better operating system in every way I can think of... el cap has been nothing but troublesome and sacrifices :\

Code:
BrcmPatchRAM2: [0a5c:21e1]: device request failed ("0xe0005000 (UNDEFINED)" 0xe0005000).
BrcmPatchRAM2: [0a5c:21e1]: readCompletion - Return aborted (0xe00002eb)
BrcmPatchRAM2: [0a5c:21e1]: Firmware upgrade failed.
BrcmPatchRAM2: [0a5c:21e1]: Found existing IOKit personality "com.apple.iokit.BroadcomBluetoothHostControllerUSBTransport".

Couldn't alloc class "BroadcomBluetoothHostControllerUSBTransport"

Attach ioreg as ZIP: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

Provide output (in Terminal):
Code:
kextstat|grep -y acpiplat
kextstat|grep -y appleintelcpu
kextstat|grep -y applelpc
kextstat|grep -y applehda

Attach EFI/Clover folder as ZIP (press F4 at main Clover screen before collecting). Please eliminate 'themes' directory. Provide only EFI/Clover, not the entire EFI folder.

Attach output of (in Terminal):
Code:
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /

Compress all files as ZIP. Do not use external links. Attach all files using site attachments only.

The frequency of this happening has gone down, stays OK for about 3 days and then it craps itself. I wanted to be sure before giving IORegistry logs. I'm looking around on the bitbucket page and I see other options, I wanted to try the
BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext but can't find links to it -anywhere- :\
I tried cloning the git and building the source, but (of course) it fails. Trying to figure why this kext is so secret and difficult to obtain

The BluetoothInjector kext can be found in older built ZIP packages.
But it does no firmware loading, so it won't be helpful.

Read post #21.

I'm not sure why, but it seems to be working. I removed both BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext and BrcmPatchRAM2.kext, installed the BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext, rebuilt caches and rebooted. Made sure that the old kexts were not being loaded by checking kextstat. I've put the laptop to sleep and woken it up a few times, and bluetooth appears to be working.
One thing that's definitely different is the "Firmware version", v14 c4096
Hopefully it will continue to work as is. I recall seeing somewhere in the past that the built-in BT module on 8x70 was natively supported. Fingers crossed.

Also, it appears somewhere along the line for testing I enabled wake on lid open option, it's also working without any trouble for a couple of days now.

EDIT: when I say "rebuilt caches and rebooted", I shut the machine down, did an EC reset, and hooked it back up

Hasn't affected handoff/low energy/hotspot support.
Code:
 Bluetooth Low Energy Supported: Yes
  Handoff Supported: Yes
  Instant Hot Spot Supported: Yes
  Manufacturer: Broadcom
  Transport: USB
  Chipset: 20702A3
  Firmware Version: v14 c4096

Ahh okay, so pretty much I just won't get the bells and whistles (A2DP, aptX, etc.)?
I guess I could live with that....at this point I just want BT reliability.

I miss Yosemite...

It may not work at all.

BT is definitely working, I have my BT headphones paired and working flawlessly. Also tested pairing it with my phone and sending/receiving files from laptop; works without any fuss

Test Airdrop, Handoff, Instant Hotspot...

Airdrop is working also, can send & receive files without any issue
As for Handoff and Instant Hotspot, I don't have any iPhones or iPads to test on; I'm very happy Airdrop is working :headbang:
