Asus Rampage V Extreme - Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 Installation Guide

I keep trying to see if I can make the system more solid. I went into Clover configurator and all I do is add 0x0306E4 to the value of FakeCPUID for my 5930k.

When I make this change, my computer will no longer boot. I have to take it back out, but it seems that this should make things more compatible. Does anyone have any ideas?

One of the errors I get on boot is
WARNING: IDPLATFORMPLUGINUTIL: get CPUIDINFO: this is an unknown CPU Model 0x3e

I'll try to research this some more but if someone has seen it and knows how to fix it, please post

First of all, make a list of your hardware, update your profile to view the complete hardware that you have.

Second FakeCPUID is not necessary and will cause Kernel Panic.
Third, I have made several installations using and testing my guide, to see that everything works as planned and explained my guide, everything works 100%, I do not understand some processes because everything is based on replacement of files, but you need to read attentively and see that hardware has been used

It is difficult to know what causes your mistakes and problems. following my guide the installation does not take more than 30 minutes to finish and have everything 100% working.

I have no doubt whatsoever that you have used this many times successfully and that is what is frustrating to me. I have now done the process 3 times on this machine and I think that copying the EFI post Install directory is what stops my machine from booting, but I do not know why.

I was trying to make the PCI section of my configuration show up properly and so I thought maybe to put my CPU there would help. I will remove it again.

I do not have any audio either and I still have to try and fix that. I thought that the GT 730 was supported by Apple but it flickers and refreshes slowly so that is also a problem.

Here is the rest of my configuration.
G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 Series 64GB F4-2666C16Q2-64GRB, Samsung Pro 950, Asus ThunderboltEX II, ASRock USB 3.1/A+C Card (connected to SATA Express), Akasa Interconnect EX USB Panel, Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra Case

I also will be installing a second Pro 950 for windows and an LSI Megaraid 9361-8i SAS controller if I can ever get the system to work properly. Then when the GTX1080i video boards are available I will change my video board to that. That will be my final configuration.

Basically it is hanging in the EAPDFix section. It says it failed to find my audio device HDEF@1B

I went to the BIOS and activated Thunderbolt to see if the system would activate support but it kept crashing so I removed it again. I see some people have it working but don't know how. I removed it again until I get the system to run better.

@Xavi16

Does your system show any information when you look at the PCI section?

EDIT: By the way, I forgot to thank you for the HackrNVMeFamily kext. It seemed that it was not working well, but when I used the EFI folder from the USB drive and than used your kext instead of the generic NVMe kext, it now shows me information about NMVe in the system configuration.

THANKS!!

@Xavi16

I have some good news!

Have you changed your EFI Post Install Files?

I copied them twice before into the EFI partition and I could never boot. I downloaded them again today and copied once more to see if I could make it work. I copied the HackrNVMeFamily. kext into the kext directory.

The clover boot screen came up and I started to boot. The boot screen progress went to 1/3 like before but now instead of a reboot, the screen went black and the progress like reappeared without the apple logo and it finished booting. The problem was that I had lost all of my USB ports and I could not move the mouse or key my password.

I booted off of the USB after several attempts and added the X99USBControllers.kext to my kext directory and tried to reboot again.

This time the clover boot screen came up in black and white with only the clover moving in blue. It was a different boot screen but I booted again and saw that the progress line under the apple went to 1/3 and then the screen went black again and only the line appeared and went to the end and I booted into OS X with USB functionality again.

I logged in and the screen did not flicker like before. I looked at the system configuration and I now have Apple Audio, it correctly recognizes my GT 730, and I have information under my PCI section. It seems stable and I think it is running well.

You have put a lot of effort into this guide and I am sorry that I have taken so much of your time but even though I made many mistakes, I would never have this running without you and your guide.

I do not know why it boots black and white like it does, but it does not really make a difference.

I am now going to go to your Final adjustments section to try and enable the iCloud.

I was looking at this yesterday and I do not think I was doing it correctly. I went to everyman.com like you said in the guide but it seems that it wants a serial number. My serial number is blank. Your guide says to generate a serial number. Do you do that in the Rt Variables tab where it says "Calculate"?

Also, when I save the file do I just save the file or do I need to "Generate Config"?

Thanks

Hi Xavi,

Thanks for your awesome tuto.
I have installed mac os, the nvidia driver for now but I have a big issue related to your dstd (I think). When I use the one from the efi post install folder, I don't have any usb and bluetooth working (that's an issue when your keyboard is an usb...). I booted from the clover usb config, remove the dstd with clover configuration and added the R5UsbInject.kext in the clover efi.
For now, it works but do you have an idea for this issue? You had a previous dstd file I think?

Thanks in advance

P.S: I have a 5820k

Hi, thanks
You can specify your hardware?
Update your profile with your PC hardware, to help better.
The DSDT is made based on my hardware, I will make some changes to make it more generic and compatible with other hardware.

There is an error in the BIOS R5E, or perhaps the own Rampage V Extreme motherboard, which makes the DSDT errors.

The commentary #12. I explain a little more this error, you can read it here
