Hackintosh on Dell Latitude E6520 - Legacy boot - CLOVER

Status
Not open for further replies.
3 Files attached.

Clover.zip - As requested EFI\Clover without Themes
Boot-01.jpg - Screen shot of where I hang at boot
Boot-02.jpg - Screen garbles approx. 2 minutes after hang.

Best I can tell this is a USB error. The ports (have tested them all) seem to shut down during the boot process. Best explanation I have seen is from this thread. Unfortunately I have never been able to successfully compile a DSDT for this laptop.

Your config.plist is not per guide. Same for Clover/kexts.

See guide: http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Follow as written.

Note: "Still waiting for root..." when booting from USB indicates a USB problem. Make sure you try all USB ports with USB2 stick. Your USB3 controller is not likely to be supported.

Could you maybe be a little less vague...It is a very long document and I have tried the different solutions in it. If you would like to be more clear as to exactly what changes my config.plist needs and which kexts are missing or need to be removed, I would be happy to try those.

Yeah...I agree it's a USB problem (as I think I have said 3 times now in this thread). Have tried multiple USB drives. What USB 3.0 controller? This is a USB 2.0 only system.

Start from scratch. Organize Clover/kexts as per guide. Use the config.plist as linked by the guide.

It is good that you don't have USB3 (because if you did it would not be supported).

Okay, did the best I could to I think match what is on that guide. Still have the exact same behavior. Here is my new EFI\Clover folder. If something is missing, please be specific.

EFI/Clover/kexts is not per guide. Remove all version specific folders leaving only Other. Remove NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, remove FakeSMC sensor kexts, remove GenericUSBXHCI.kext.

The only kext you should try for USB is USBInjectAll.kext.

Make sure you try all USB ports.

Also, you have Clover v3423. Guide recommends Clover v3625.

Okay, tried again with your recommended changes. Still have the same behavior, and yes I tried all USB ports. Uploading latest EFI\Clover for review.

Note that you will need a ps2 kext for your internal keyboard/trackpad to work...

Boot verbose, show photo.
