Hi,

What if you wanted to use intel HD Graphics 530 and Nvidia together ? I can see on my system information that both are there! But i have no output on my nvidia card whatsoever.. If i change in BIOS the option to run the PCI graphics the nvidia work but no intel HD 530 at all.. Do i really need to choose one of them or can i do both somehow ? I just dont understand why it does not output the graphics.. The nvidia web drivers are loaded , osx detects the nvidia card but no output ???? just dont make any sense... Anyone might have a suggestion ?

Thankyou!

Hi and thanks for your wonderful guide, I have the same motherboard and same processor and the install works at the first time, which is incredible. Sooooo easy !! Thank you very much Jerivalu, you made my day :clap::clap:

For people who have issues with nvidia cards on the same config, i followed that process :
- install last nvidia web driver
- reboot
- install AGDPfix -> download it form here (end of the first post, thanks to shilohh for that easy tool)
- reboot with boot flag "nvda_drv=1" (you can set it in clover configurator before reboot).
- check in about my mac if your GPU is recognized.
It worked for me (980ti).

it seems that you will have to install AGDPfix after each OS X update.

Can anyone think of a reason on this config and following this guide why I can boot into El Cap and Win10, but not the OSX recovery partition or the unibeast USB I originally installed from? (Both black screen after progress bar, verbose shows abnormal exit on com.apple.xpc.launchd[1])

EDIT: choosing to boot from unibeast USB in BIOS work, so I think my clover install is messed up. Will investigate.

EDIT2: black screen freeze on unibeast USB boot still. Will have to go back to square 1 and figure out why. :(

I've installed MacOS a few times, this time around when I install on this board(Specifically this board). In Clover it shows everything correctly. But when I hit the installer drive it just gives me a black screen with a X. Would you think this is just a problem with the USB flash drive?
Clover on the USB flash drive works because there's an EFI driver for your flash drive. But Clover has to pass control over to the Mac OS X booter, which has to switch to it's own driver. The OS X driver for that USB port isn't working (probably a port connected to the chipset XHCI controller), so you should try a different port. Then, when you can boot properly, you can fix the USB settings in config.plist so you can boot from any of 15 ports on the Intel chipset XCHI ports.

I haven't seen any evidence yet that anyone has succeeded in getting both working at the same time. What we need is a better understanding of the AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy, AGDPClientControl, AppleGraphicsDeviceControlClient, etc. so a patch can be applied to make them treat the Intel and Nvidia graphics controllers as separate. Also needed is a patch to allow more than one display to be connected to Intel, and sleep/wake to work, and hot plug detect.

Looking for insight/help: I can't boot from the unibeast installer anymore (and I even just made the installer from scratch and went back to square one.) It starts the progress bar then display goes dead. Bios is exactly configured as the first post in this thread. Not sure what's happening. I can't boot from the recovery drive either. Any insights here would be appreciated (as if I ever need to reinstall, I won't be able to.)
Thanks!

Hi guys,

Has anyone else failed to get to the installer with this board and the default multi beast clover config file?

With the default multi beast UEFI install guide i get this error:

Yes, I do. Was previously able to install a working El Cap to SSD (still works) but I get the same error when trying to boot from Unibeast installer or Mac OSX recovery drive. Still trying to fix that (hoping someone here chimes in) other posts suggest graphics not initializing, but none of the fixes I've tried have worked.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Are you using a USB2 port on the motherboard?

Are you using a USB2 port on the motherboard?

Yeah, I'm using the same port I initially installed from, same USB stick I initially installed from. Going to try some suggestions I read about fakeSMC.kext and report back. I'm just surprised that the installer I used no longer works, and neither does a fresh one...

FIXED: I must have corrupted the original USB EFI partition when messing around. I THOUGHT I had repartitioned the key when I reinstalled Unibeast, but in El Cap, that will NOT delete files, and Unibeast will NOT overwrite what is there. Once I ERASED the USB key then reinstalled Unibeast, booting from the key was successful. Thank you all for your patience :)

No, it didn't have any USB patches that were outside of Clover's built-in options, and I did resolve the external drives showing as internal issue by a combination of the following:
  • Patch to raise USB port limit to 26 (for this type of 100-series board)
  • USBInjectAll.kext
  • The SSDT I mentioned earlier, which is actually dependent on USBInjectAll.kext (which I wasn't using initially)
The drives appear as they should now. Front panel USB3 does seem pretty flakey though... disconnects and re-connects every now and then, so I've stopped using them for now.

I don't think you're supposed to keep the raised USB port limit patch. With the patch enabled, what are the ports and their addresses listed under the XHCI controller (screen shot)? You should remove that patch and use the uia_exclude boot argument like this:
uia_exclude=HS11;HS12;HS13;HS14;USR1;USR2;SS07;SS08;SS09;SS10;HS02

Plug a mouse into each port to see which are used, then exclude the rest so that only a max of 15 are listed.
