I have successfully booted an existing Mavericks/Chimera install using a Clover Test USB. See here- http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/move-from-mavericks-multibeast-to-el-capitan-advice.194221/

I'm sort of stuck on what I need to do next. I'm thinking ideally it would be easiest to update to El Capitan right out of the App Store without using a new Unibeast, etc.

What are the next steps? Do I install clover over the top of my existing Mavericks install then do the update to El Cap? If so, how? Or, do I start fresh and blow away everything using the latest Unibeast install? That would be less than ideal, but if ultimately that creates the least amount of pain, then so be it.

In the thread posted at the top, I was directed to go here - http://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/direct-update-to-os-x-el-capitan-using-clover.172107/ after having success with the Clover Test USB, but that's for established clover users, which I am not.

If someone can provide some links in logical order, I would appreciate it.

UPDATE: I'm on El Capitan. I had issues with the App Store Initially, made a few changes, and all is good there. I still need to verify Ethernet (i217V) and ALC1150 are working.

hey how is this going for you im more or less in the same boat...
let me explain bit......a while back i wanted to make the move from mavericks on chimera to mavericks on clover...for what ever reason it would not boot into clover for me so i abandoned the attempt.. but recently my set up "stopped working" it wouldnt post (on a z87x-oc) i would just get the Mbiops & Bbios LEDs blinking back and fort..did some cmos resets didnt work... .i went out bought a new PSU and all was good... except when it finally booted it said my BIOS was corrupted so i fixed with the back up reconfigured like a new set up rebooted and LOW AND BEHOLD im on clover... so im thinking of just usiing the elcapitan usb i just made to update?

I ran the update to el cap through the app store after installing clover. I didn't use the usb installer for el cap. If that's what you're asking.

so nothing needed after the install? i have the install app ready in my applications folder, downloaded from the app store, but i'm scared haha
