How many monitors do you have? I am looking into purchase a 1080 for a hackintosh build, but I feel that the os will not be able to support 3 monitors. I know the GPU can though. Can you help me out?
I have 3 monitors currently with my GTX 660, I just received my GTX 1080 Founders Edition and I'm going to test it out.

I am pretty sure it will not work with the GTX 1080, but I do have an 8x8 matrix switcher, so I am planning on leaving the GTX 660 in the hackintosh along with the 1080. So basically my inputs 1,2,3 will be connected to the GTX660 and inputs 4,5,6 will be connected to the GTX1080 for when I want to game in windows.

Hope fully I wont have a problem with using two cards, I will keep everyone posted though.

My Specs:
i7 5820K
Gigabyte GA-X99-Ultra Gaming
1 TB Samsung Evo OSX El Capitan
1 TB Samsung Evo Windows
GTX660

Currently everything works, sound, lan, sleep, speedstep, sound resume from sleep all on 10.11.5

I don't think thats a good idea.
Like I said, I have massive problems if I leave both gpus plugged in.
I think that the idle signal from the monitor activates the gpu.

EDIT: it may work with a matrix switcher sry red it fast ^^

Do 3 monitors work with your GTX 1070?

Slim, is there any way to look in a driver package and see what cards are supported specifically...IE...which 900 series cards or which quadro cards. If so...how?

You can use flag package editor or pacifist. Cards are supported based on their architecture, not the series. You would be looking at the name of the driver, for example if your see GK, that is for Kepler cards and GF for Fermi and GM for Maxwell. For Pascal we will be looking for a driver with GP in the name.

Sorry guys I didn't have a chance to test anything yet, but I will test it tonight. I Finally have some time of work to test things out. I have several matrix switches to test as well. (I do home and business automation) Ill key you guys posted.

GTX1080 ONLY:
Clover boot requires nv_disable in order to boot
Choppy unaccelerated graphics

Triple monitors will not work
System Profiler sees card as Display with 7mb vram
Wallpaper changes from the one set as default for my triple display

GTX1080+GTX660
Clover will not boot unless Primary init graphics is set to second PCI-e slot in bios settings
if Monitors are plugged into GTX1080 only a single monitor will work
if Monitors are plugged into GTX660 all three monitors will work just fine
System profiler sees GTX1080 as Display
System profiler sees GTX660 correctly, lists all three monitors correctly along with the correct vram, which in my case is 2048mb
Breaks sleep

My system fully functions with the GTX660

I am going to post several pictures, they are labeled with the setup information, also did a cinebench test in windows just for fun. Apparently the GTX1080 has no advantage over the GTX660 in cinebench, however all my actual games have at a minimum doubled as far as FPS with the GTX1080 vs GTX660

I have a GTX 1080 n the way, will be here tomorrow, and I will test it in my Mac Pro. I'll keep you guys posted and let you know how it works.

EDIT: Looks like I am far far too late! Doh!

1080 here. Same issue as above - generic adapter with 7mb. I'm having other issues with my hackintosh anyways so I'll just stick to Windows until the NVIDIA driver is released and the Gigabyte Z170N-Gaming 5 is better supported by the community, as I could not get audio running, and had to play around with ownership just to get it to boot. USB 3.0 seems to be out of the picture too.

Can you try using GTX 1080 for windows to boot and IGPU intel to boot OSX bro ?
