Black Screen with iMac 17,1 Despite All Fixes

@kiiroaka, I followed your advice and used TextWrangler to compare my working config.plist (Mac Pro 3,1) with the black screen config.plist (iMac 17,1) and the only difference is the SMBIOS section, as expected. I'm starting to wonder if 10.11.5 introduced a change that prevents the documented fixes from working.

Paging @slim.jim just in case he can help!

So MacPro3,1 works fine?

Yes, 3,1 boots with the Web Driver without issue. I bought the i7 for speed, though, so it would be nice to get the optimizations...

Unfortunately I have seen this with several Skylake builds where the only SMBIOS that works properly is MacPro3,1. I don't have a Skylake build myself so I don't have a way of testing it.

Thanks for the response just the same! If I can figure it out, I'll post my results here. It would be nice to give back in a small way.

Cheers!

Do you have any other GPU to test with?
Would be nice to know if this is just GTX750 specific as we all need to abandon 3,1 soon because of new macOS.

Can I have a copy of your original ACPI files?

You can dump them by pressing F4 in Clover (It does not say anything)

They can then be found in EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/origin

I may or may not have fixed a related problem on my own system by editing my DSDT. (Which is what I want you to test :) )

I don't, sadly. I have the Skylake internal GPU, but I haven't used it.

Thank you! Yes I'll upload these when I get home from work today!

Here it is, thanks again!

It did not work as I wanted it to on my own system :(

Sorry for asking for those before I had some more tests.

I'm not seeing this problem myself on 10.11.5, but I'm seeing it in a certain beta that we are not allowed to discuss here.

My testing seems to show that it is somehow related to the kernel cache (updated GraphicsDevicePolicy not getting added correctly to it).
