Hooray! The parts have arrived and I also have my G4 case so the fun can begin!

In honor of Alphacool, I'm changing my colour theme to black and blue. That way I stay true to Alphacool's colours. I also figured that Mayhem's blue pastel would look awesome.

Therefore, I will have to look for a black/blue motherboard. Does anyone have an idea which one?

Today I cut away the old motherboard panel. I just used a dremel and the EZ speedclinic metal discs.

Afterwards, I removed the rivets that hold the panel in place that supports the PSU etc. I will probably cut it so it only supports the PSU and not use the rest.

Then I used a cheap/ ghetto method to mount the motherboard to the side panel: using nuts and washers. It does the job, but it isn't exactly what I had in mind. That's why I ordered an M3 drilling tap, that way I can use 6mm motherboard standoffs. I'll see how it goes when the kit arrives

.

I'm fairly happy with the results. I will just have to look for a motherboard IO panel to see if it fits.

OK. What about Azure/Aqua/Sapphire etc in the title? :)
As I remember, the original standoffs are 8 mm.

Well, when I just cut out the IO part, I actually checked to see if it would fit with the original standoffs (to see if the height would work). It turned out that my graphics card didn't line up correctly, with about 2mm higher than what it should be. That's why I'm willing to try with 6mm standoffs. If that doesn't work I'll just stick to the nuts and screws and bolts :)

I also changed the thread name to Blueberry since I'm probably going to use Mayhem's pastel Blueberry anyways :)
