I am also trying to get my 6700K to 4.6GHz. It is stable on Windows but OSX only reporting 4.01GHz.

I have my Z170x overclocked to 4.7 GHz in the BIOS. This works, my Geekbench scores are higher, the Intel gadget shows 4.7 GHz max speed, but you don't see the actual speed in about this Mac. It says 4.01, and shows nonsense about my RAM.
This is purely cosmetic, overclock and RAM work. I've installed the 6700k SSDT too, don't know if it does much.

And yes, I've ticked every Clover option for shutdown etc. Maybe there's a secret setting that will help, the whole Clover config thing is rather cryptic.

I would someone kindhearted people explained me the Realtek Windows audio drivers vs El Capitan ones.

I'm going to assemble a similar build with Z170X-UD5 TH, i7 6700k and GTX970OC but the two operating systems will be on two discrete SSDs. In other words, it will not be a dual boot machine, but using http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004TMDVU6/?tag=tonymacx86com-20 at startup. In this way I can decide whether boot under Win10 or El Capitan.

All that said, if the two operating systems are phisically not running at the same time, will I have to uninstall (or never install) Realtek drivers from Windows 10?
This is literally puzzling me...

If you want hardware to work in OS X you need OS X drivers for it.
If you want hardware to work in Windows you need Windows drivers for it.
As they are running independently there is no connection between the two operating systems.
Install your OS X driver and Windows will most probably take care of itself with built-in drivers.
No need to uninstall anything.

Thanks Pilgrim for your reply. Usually moterboards provide a DVD with the main drivers for audio and chipset.
My concern is about installing Realtek drivers under Windows 10 if they might compromise (i.e. Put at risk) ALC1150 under El Capitan.
If I think with logic, it wouldn't hurt, because the two OSes run separately.. But, as you probably know, nothing can be considered for granted in computer science ;)

As P1LGRIM said, totally separate installs. Nothing will be compromised.

I love how everyone wants to fight me on the realtek drivers..... just don't install them in windows. Let windows use it's own built in drivers.

Jerivalu is right, I had the realtek drivers already installed in Win 10 and after getting OS X installed on new GA-Z170X-UD5 TH, had sound in OS X until I booted into Win 10. Sound worked in Win 10, but didn't when I went back to OS X. Went back, uninstalled realtek drivers and let Win install it's drivers. Rebooted back to OS X and had sound again.

I've seen several people asking about OC'ing the GA-Z170X-UD5 TH, so here is my settings.

Stable Overclocking The GA-Z170X-UD5 TH to 4.8 Ghz.

1st, Many Thanks To Jerivalu and his Installation Guide.

USE Jerivalu’s GUIDE 1ST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BIOS Version F5.

DO NOT USE THE GIGABYTE OC TOOLS IN WINDOWS!!!!! USE ONLY MANUAL BIOS SETTINGS!!!!!

I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU HAVE YOU HAVE A VERY GOOD CPU COOLER OR A HYDRO SYSTEM!!!!!

1. All settings are changed in the M.I.T. section of the Bios.

2. Go to Advanced Frequency Settings.
Change the CPU Clock Ratio to "47".
Change the Extreme Memory Profile to "Profile 1"

3. Go back to Advanced Frequency Settings, then Advance CPU Core Settings.
Change the Uncore Frequency to “46”.
Change the Turbo Ratio for each Core to “48”.
Go back to M.I.T.

4. Go to Advance Voltage Settings, then Advance Power Settings.
Change CPU Vcore Loadline Calibration to “High”.
Go back to Advance Voltage Settings.

5. Go to CPU Core Voltage Control.
Change CPU Vcore to “1.39v”.
Change CPU VCCIO to “1.150v”
Change CPU System Agent Voltage to “1.250v”.

6. Save and Exit Bios saving new settings, reboot and go back into Bios.
Go to M.I.T and you should see the changes on the main M.I.T. screen.

Anything above these settings caused reboots or lockups in OS X and BOSD in Win 10.

So far, no issues in OS x or Win 10 while gaming for several hours last night.

Good luck and may the OC Gods smile upon you!

Hey, Jerivalu. What version of Clover are you using? I'm running 3526.
