Big List of Solutions for El Capitan Install Problems

Hi all. I kept getting the essentials.pkg error, and after trying about a million things I got a successful install with maxmem=4096.

Not sure exactly what this signifies (bad ram sticks maybe?) but I hope it helps someone!

Hi,

I have a few issues.

Firstly, I was able to get the audio working but, stopped after I’d done the post install stuff on Clover Configurator and had restarted. I’ve tried the apci fix and doesn’t seem to be working. Before hand I had my external speakers set as internal on the mac.

Secondly, there seems to be flickering across the screen, I assume this is due to nvidia drivers? I installed the correct ones. This flickering occurs when on Chrome, all over programs will be affected.

Lastly, USB!! Seems to be a common issue, haven’t had chance to address this issue yet as I’m still trying to tackle these other two. I have 2 USB 3.1 and 4 USB 3.0 ports. I think the issue is only around the 3.1’s as my keyboard and mouse are working fine, as are my cases front USB’s.

Many thanks,

Hi, hope someone can help with this.
The graphics card I was using has bitten the dust so I'm trying to enable HD3000 on a fresh 10.11.4 install.
Everything installs fine, I've always used the macpro3,1 system definition as it's the only one that solves the 'no audio after sleep' issue for me.

The problem is when I enable 'inject Intel' option in clover...the system boots up but with no graphics at all, with it disabled it boots up fine, but without accelerated graphics.
I've tried removing the appletymce.kext as I've read that can affect thing, but that makes no difference.

I've tried some of the other definitions but the only ones that boot up with accelerated graphics is the macmini definitions, but these leave me with the horrible sound issues after wake.

I've tried all the suggestion here...

But no joy.
Any help is appreciated.

Celeron CPUs are not supported - you need at least a core2 duo.

I have been trying to install El Captain (10.11.3) but keep getting this panic (sorry for the low quality, it was really hard to get the picture as it does not give me enough time to picture it)

Total nub here, and about to post my own probs, but just so you know, same happened to me. I powered-off, changed usb slot, then turned on and the usb stick was available to choose again in BIOS. Hope that helps somewhat. But yeah, weird cuz it happened to me more than once

Heres an addition you can make to the audio section, its taken me a few hours to find that this issue was acknowledged a few months ago in an obscure thread at post number 229, no one has made an attempt to put this issue and fix in an easy to find place.

If your dual booting Windows & Mac OS X with an ALC1150 codec and your suffering from quiet audio output then it is because Windows leaves the codec in an unclosed state during a reboot. The fix is to shut down your PC entirely and do a cold boot into Mac OS and your audio should be normal volume.

Hope this helps :)
