RehabMan I notice that Phoenixtool256.zip attached with this thread also decompresses a lot of files when I attach the .exe bios file however I am unable to identify which one is correct bios rom file becuase the official file from dell support site in my case contains possibly 3 bioses. as the name suggests ;7348_7352_7558_A08.exe

I also found the as the phoenix tool load the .exe file its creates a dump in which I find two files similar and have DMVT values (attached) after getting it via "Universal IFR Extractor" without getting the steps to extract the rom file dumps.

also found two DMVT values inside each files however looks like the second one is disable as default as maybe reserved for laptop with dual graphic option. for note mine has only integrated graphics...

Is my theory correct for extracting file from .exe !!!!!

Any ideas / input on identification is appreciated..

Hello I own an Acer Travelmate P236 with an i5-5200U CPU (HD 5500 graphics) and InsydeH20 BIOS.
I have read all this threads and other as suggested here.
Set BIOS to UEFI Disabled

My DVMT:
0x51AAC Setting: IGD - DVMT Pre-Allocated, Variable: 0x18C {05 91 59 02 5A 02 00 0A 34 12 8C 01 04 10 00 3F 00}
0x51ABD Option: 0 MB, Value: 0x0 {09 07 8F 01 00 00 00}
0x51AC4 Option: 32 MB, Value: 0x1 (default) {09 07 94 01 10 00 01}
0x51ACB Option: 64 MB, Value: 0x2 {09 07 95 01 00 00 02}

and boot in efi shell and:
set_var 0x18C 0x3 (I did try with other values) whiteout errors.
Made another USB2 stick with Unibeast 6.1.1 and did install latest Clover v2.3k r3389 and used as config.plist the suggested "config_HD5300_5500_5600_6000.plist".

I'm always getting "Couldn't allocate runtime area" and boot failed.

What I'm doing wrong?
Any clues?

Thanx
I did have included my EFI and my BIOS config.

Does each have the same DVMT-prealloc offset/values?

Does each have the same DVMT-prealloc offset/values?

In my opinion YES. But like I said early I didn't extract the OEM Bios .exe and plug the actual BIOS file in phoenix tools. I directly attach the OEM BOIS .exe into phoenix and resulting dump and didn't "Extract the file" instead search the dump created by phoenix tool for the same file name FE3542FE* and found DMVT values (attached previously).

The reason for my doubts are;

1. If phoenix tool was able to preform the extraction why this is not mention is this guide.
2. Due to two shortcuts (mention above) I took to get the DMVT value. how can I be sure ????

I have almost similar machine and same bios. Used Unibeast http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...-capitan-any-supported-intel-based-pc-94.html , disable secure boot and only added OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller kext and rest at default and successfully install.
Changing DVMT has no effect on installation itself.

Thanx.

Redone following your guide step by step and from scratch on another USB stick with no luck. I didn't use Unibeast this time, but I did use your config_HD5300_5500_5600_6000.plist. Clover 3411 with the suggested options. Boot in grub to setup_var and the reboot with

Still "Couldn't allocate runtime area" or sometimes cache error even choosing to ignore cache.

Keep reading.
