I have seen no issues with either the Mavericks or Yosemite version of this security update. That said - we always advise people to back up, keep USB installer on hand and if possible have a cloned bootable drive should there be any complications.

Be careful if you use the nvidia web drivers. See similar posts on the previous security updates.

Jeah. No problem with installing. And there was new nvidia drivers waiting to update.
And yes, I do backup
