You have to install the nvidia web drivers for any 900 series gpu.

thanks for your reply, are they different from the ones on page 1?

The web drivers are what is on page one but the has been several iterations. Make sure you have the right one for the right build of OS X you are running.

Hello all. I just wanted to share how I got my new GTX 960 working with the post 2016-001 security update drivers in case it might be of help to anybody else.

My hardware:
ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark I
ASUS STRIX GTX 960 4 GB
(3) 1080p Monitors

I already had a functioning install with the same motherboard and an ASUS R9 280x (but only with two monitors working). This card is getting RMA'd as it has problems like a large number of these cards do. This install was clover based and was pretty straight forward. -v to boot into the installer. ALC1150 installed with multibeast and kext-dev-mode=1 in place. I was using a MacPro 6,1 definition.

Then I installed the web drivers, shut down, put new card in place, boot, and black screen. Like many of the reports here, system is booted just without any display.

I tinkered with this for about an hour trying different things that I read but what ultimately made the difference for me was to boot with nv_disable=1 to get into the system and then change the system definition using Clover Configurator to MacPro 3,1. Upon reboot, and with nvda_drv=1 in place, system came up just fine and I have full acceleration with all 3 monitors working (1 DVI, and the 2 DP at the end of the panel, furthest away from one another).

Hopefully this will help someone. I appreciate all the help that is available here from tonymacx86, other users, and the community as a whole. Thanks!

Any fix for 14f1808?

UPD figured out. Just modify NVDAStartup.kext with

<key>NVDARequiredOS</key>
<string>14F1808</string>

Just did the security update and am on 14F1808. Got offered new driver and updated (346.02.03f07) but after reboot, it's like my Nvidia card (GTX 750 Ti) is no longer present and I get the crappy OS X drivers.

Any suggestions?
