It seems that the Kext Wizard is not compatible with El Capitan.

I don't even bother with Kext Wizard anymore. It is easy and reliable to use the Apple recommended method of rebuilding cache (and kexts can be installed with 'sudo cp -R ...')

Unplug the drive from one port and plug into a different port.

You can check download.sh at the 4x30s-DSDT-Patch repo to see which kexts are being used.

I've used USB3 devices after apply GenericUSBXHCI.kext (2015-1215), and it worked sometimes. I will check now with the latest update to see if there're improvements.


Inside download.sh file I can see these kexts listed:

I have to check periodically each one? And, applying the latest DSDT-Patch will install these kexts listed in download.sh file? (I have no idea what happens exactly)

I've been following your posts and instructions carefully (I am really good doing that) and enjoyed a lot doing complicated things just reading you carefully. I just want to ask you why PBI has been discontinued, and if you are going to update the instructions related to update kexts in 'Update Clover and kexts' here.

ACPI has nothing to do with kexts.

It doesn't really work very well. For those that want to experiment, they can install manually.

The author (nguyenmac) decided to stop working on it. It is likely nguyenmac got a different laptop.

I have no plans to work on PBI-CE. I don't find it necessary...

4k is not going to work with HD3000/HDMI.

Generally you want to use the latest version.

But keep in mind nguyenmac is not maintaining it anymore. Clover and many of the kexts it includes are now not up-to-date.

I have an 8470w with an AMD Firepro M2000 (Radeon HD 7670M). However in Probook-Installer under "Config and DSDT patcher" -> "HP Laptop" -> "Business Model", there is only the option "8x70w nVidia".

When I choose the "8x70w nVidia" option, I can get my Hackbook to boot fine, but:

1. I get weird flickering right after logging in, while its loading (Fix EDID, did not help).
2. My Display Port does not work, and neither does the Display Port or DVI on the dock.
3. In "About this Mac" -> "System Report" -> "Graphics/Displays", it shows as "Vendor: ATI" with "VRAM(Total): 5MB" (it should be 1GB).

I figure if I get the correct kext/driver/whatever installed for my GPU it will fix all the above problems?

I tried using "8x70p AMD" but it would just get stuck at some audio step patching AppleHDA
