[Solved] Help on understanding post-installation process

Hi,

Maybe it's me, but even if I read a lot of posts and guides on this forum, I didn't get how the post-installation works, or maybe I fell that I didn't get in the real essence.

I'm using Multibeast v8.0.1 and I saw that there are few options/settings to select than I was expecting, so I realized that something should be manually, but how and where?

I guess that the config.plist that I've used to get OS X installed via USB should in someway imported in the EFI partition where Clover is installed (on the disk), but I cannot understand which option I have to import and which I can leave as default.

Furthermore, what if I have some kext that I want to install? For example the one for booting/use a NVME disk? For OS X installation I've just put in EFI/kexts/10.11 folder of the USB pen stick and it worked, but I don't know if it's the same procedure when the system is installed (sorry, but I didn't find any clear explanation in the guide).

Finally I didn't get when (how to understand if) it is necessary to patch DSDT and in case how to understand how to patch it.

Thank you and sorry for the dumb question, but I want to understand better this process to get my system running without going crazy and make thing without any clue of what I'm doing.

Cheers.

ammulder has a detailed guide that might answer some if not all ?'s of para. 1@2.
kexts: If you use kext folder in EFI/Clover of boot drive/mount EFI copy and paste.
If you use L/E or S/L/E for kexts they must be installed with a kext installer ie kextbeast.
You can copy EFI folder from pen drive if your happy with the way it boots up OS X /mount EFI partition of SSD/HDD and replace EFI folder there with the one from USB.
Hope this gets you a little farther down the road.

Thank you for the info.

I've used Multibeast to install basic stuff and generate the EFI bootloader, then (without rebooting), I've copied the config.plist and the kexts from the USB stick to the EFI partition of my disk and for the moment I didn't install the nVidia driver (just to avoid other issues) and left "nv_disable=1" option in my config.plist.

I was expecting that since my Clover configuration and kext in my disk are the same used in my USB stick the boot from my disk was working, but no luck. It stops after writing "ACPI" (sometimes truncating the word), then I've tried to restart using my USB stick and it seems to freeze after that it complains about USB hub connection.

Furthermore, another strange issue is that after that I've installed Clover on my disk, Windows 10 EFI partition seems to be completely missing on the other disk!

Could you help me?

My configuration:
Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 5
Intel i7 i6700K
Corsair 8+8GB 3200MHz
Samsung 950 Pro (NVME disk where I've installed OS X El Capitan, using NVME kext)
Samsung 850 Evo (where Windows 10 is installed)
