Skylake Starter Guide

I installed HWMonitor with all four plug-ins – it runs on 10.11.1, 10.11.2, and 10.11.3.
The only issue is that it shows my CPU Fan as GPU Fan, and adds a 19 rpm fan where there is none.
(I removed the whole GPU cooler and replaced it with a big passive one and a silent mainboard fan – temperatures never exceed 70 C in stresstest.)
But the wrong "19 rpm Fan" was shown already before, and the original GPU Fan was not detected.

Did you install HWMonitor and the plugins with Multibeast ? Is it possible to install a specific plugin only ?

Maybe I will open a new thread presenting my config and explaining problems / solutions. For the moment i don't have seen any topic with the Asus Z170 pro Gaming.

This doesn't make any sense to me. I don't understand what you mean by "selected Nvidia Generic in Clover". Also, I wouldn't have expected a CUDA driver to make any difference. CUDA is a parallel computing API, it has nothing to do with the appearance of windows on the screen.

Try booting without the USB, and use your BIOS hotkey to select a boot device. Make sure you select UEFI:YourSystemDrive from the list. Then see if you get a Clover menu and can select to boot the installed OS successfully.

If you can, and if you have put the memory settings in the SMBIOS section of the config.plist on your system drive EFI partition, then I would expect the memory total to be correct as well.

Making headway ... got it booting from HD ( yeah messed up on the UEFI drive name )
Got sound working too
The memory fix doesn't seen to work and when i go back and look at config.pilst it's in a different place. See attaced
Re the Graphics thing. In Clover on the Graphics page their are a number of options ...
Inject ATI, Inject Nvidia, Nvidia Generic, Nvidia Single ..... currently using Inject Nvidia. Resolution works but just getting those black screens in browser/App store ...
I have some working Nvidia kexts from Mountain Lion days?

Allrighty ... everything is working has it should be.
RAM is now showing full 16Gb. When i looked at other config.plist with the memory lines added they were different from:
"if your system only recognizes half your installed memory, you can add your memory settings to the SMBIOS definition in config.plist." As soon as i did this it worked. As well it's now reporting in Clover Configurator! And seeing it all noticeably improved performance.

Now ... the only thing left to sort out is the Video. While i have full res. 1920x1200 when using internet apps(Apple store, Browsers) i get garbled graphics. This effectively restricts the use of OSX till this last thing is sorted out.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hmm .. just tried Opera Browser and it's displaying just fine. In looking around there was some note of OSX updates breaking Nvidia driver causing garbled screens....

Hehe ... not able to boot up OSX after their install. I am running 10.11.3 now.
Here is the panic report:
Kernel Extensions in backtrace:

last loaded kext at 56030958087: com.apple.driver.X86PlatformShim 1.0.0 (addr 0xffffff7f98d7f000, size 36864)

I tried disabling them with nv_disable=1 but it still won't boot

Any ideas?

You will have to apply the same USB fix to the system drive that you did to the USB install drive (USBInjectAll, and either the port limit patch or a system-specific SSDT and etc.).

I'm sorry, I'm not sure exactly what you're saying. First it was broken, then everything was working, and now it's not? If that's right, what did you do since it was working?

I haven't seen that specific error before where you get a bunch of IGPU lines on the screen but graphics doesn't start. Do you want to post your config.plist for review?
