[Guide] Booting the OS X installer on LAPTOPS with Clover

Was just the laptop mouse. I've moved on because I couldn't replicate the issue, it loaded once.

I think you're referring to the pointing device in front of your keyboard. It is not a mouse. It is a trackpad/touchpad.

You need to install proper PS2 drivers... (depends on the trackpad you have).

I have created a DSDT.aml and the subsequent SSDT-1 through 7 for my machine with working compiled Backlight Fix... and I now get panic...
"Unable to find driver for this platform: "ACPI".\n"@SourceCache/xnu/xnu-2782.20.48/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1590 ...

It means you saved the file in the incorrect format.

So I've been trying to turn the DSDT.aml off from loading at boot, but DSDT=null or Clover Options --> Table Dropping Menu --> Drop All OEM SSDT Unchecked, doesn't seem to work. It still KP's, I can't seem to get rid of my DSDT.

Boot using your USB and fix your EFI/Clover on HDD.

The format is definitely ACPI Machine Language Binary?

It compiled with no errors, but 70 warnings, I'm slowly going through all the warnings one by one. A few fixes were easy to find. I'm about to reboot and try it again.

Evidently not. The panic you have is typical when you save text to ACPI/patched/DSDT.aml.

No need to fix warnings.

Note: Generally, you do not need patched DSDT to run the installer. Also, that panic can also happen because of overuse of Clover DSDT fixes (they often create corrupt DSDT). Make sure you aren't using any. See post #1 for links to valid config.plist files.

This time it didn't KP... but I got this instead. :(

I'm way past the installer... I'm the guy who has reinstalled 5 times to fix messed up Clover installs, and other weird issues...

I'm installing 10.10.3. I might just download El Capitan and start again from scratch after Windows 10 is reinstalled.

OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 is installed, will only boot with no Intel inject, so I've gone through the processes of adding Inject EDID, Custom EDID, ... I'm up to Backlight fix, but getting a working bootable DSDT is an issue since it's my first time working with DSDT's...

At one point I read wrong and installed both IntelBacklight and the other Kext related to Backlight, and for a few seconds, the Laptop had full QI/CE then KP'd when I moved the Synaptic Trackpad. So I've removed both, applied IntelBacklight and applying it's backlight fixes and writing this DSDT. I worked with DSDT decompiled and sourced from patchmatic which seemed to work fine, but had 75 warnings. I have also worked with a DSDY decompiled and sourced from Clovers F4, but this one no matter how I use iasl to decompile ends up with unexpected $end... so I'll stick with the patchmatic version I think.

From where did you download 10.10.3?
