Hey! I recently upgraded my old hackintosh to your "hector" machine.

I followed the guide to the letter and the thing is pretty stable.

I will say that I am having issues opening Safari and it seems to be tied to iMessage. I have to force quite safari quit often and the only way I can open it is by restarting the machine.

I have noticed that if I get a call via facetime or a message on my messages app it seems to throw Safari into a tizzy. I can still open Chrome and work(doing it right now) but I can't force quite Safari and reopen. I can't force quit message and facetime and reopen Safari.

Once the error happens the only way I can open Safari again is after a restart. It works for some time and then there seems to be an issue with the iMessage account or Factime.

Any thoughts? Can I run a diagnostic that I am missing? Thanks!!

I'll have to test these conditions. I rarely use Safari as I'm a Firefox user. I have Messages open all the time and have not seen the conditions with Firefox. So, I'll run Safari for a couple of days to see what happens.

BTW, make sure you're running the latest BIOS.

Is it okay to update bios after hackintosh is running? Will it mess anything up to do so?

Thanks!

I just checked. Running F8 bios version. Which shows is the latest version on the gigbyte website.

I've just set up literally the exact same build this morning, with exactly the same motherboard (H97N-WiFi), processor (i5-4690) and GPU (750 Ti) that you have. My only issue is that, just like the gentleman in the first page of this thread, my USB 3.0 ports are showing up as USB 2.0 ports with 2.0 speeds in System Info.

I've modified my config.plist as recommended in your original post and run KextBeast with Rehabman's 2 kexts, but they still show up as USB 2.0 ports.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Well i managed to intall el capitan using the G3258 with the integrated graphics... Wasnt easy but heres is how i managed to get it working .

1.- I had to use the fake cpuid 0x0306A0 in clover in order to boot..
2.- Fake IntelHD on clover using 0x04128086 fake intel GFX also in clover ..
3.- Added this .kexts in order to boot properly FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics, FakePCIID, NullCPUPowerManagement
4.- Used Imac 13,2 SMBIOS

I have a system up and running but its no close to properly work . I am missing Wifi is there a patch or SSDT edit i can use to get it to run . And the most important thing the graphics are really buggy i cant really use the system properly maybe someone can point me in the right direction i am wondering if i shoiuld start my own thread but i figurred someone might use this information on this thread.

Thanks

Shremi

Shremi,
What is your system's components? I'm seeing your Profile system is a X99 based system.

Sorry I edited my signature in order to be reflected correctly the x99 is my main computer .... Currently i am only using the CPU and the integrated graphics nothing else .... I have the antek ISK 110 so a dedicated GPU was out of the question for me .... I managed to get everything installed i just need to get a better performance the graphics are jittery and i cant use the wifi yet also no HDMI audio but one step at a time :) am now following a guide over at insanely that it gives you full speedstep i want to see if that has any benefits on my system

Thanks for updating your signature block.

I had to look up the "antek ISK 110" >
Antec ISK 110 VESA Black ABS plastic / 0.8 mm SECC Mini-ITX Desktop Computer Case 90W External Adapter, Up to 92% Efficiency Power Supply

So, I now understand why you want to get the on-board Intel Integrated Graphics to work for you. Good luck, and let us know how you make out.

Ok i need abit of help folks..

im using the GA-Z97N-wifi (bluetooth card removed)
16 GB (2 sims)
IGP - Intel4600
Samsung ssd 850 ev pro

Following the guide and setting the bios I was able to install and initial boot.
When I set the boot to the UEFI on the SSD i get a reboot loop. It never gets into the Apple just straight to a bios prompt

I have redone this several times so please let me paraphrase a bit.

The first attempt i followed the guide to the letter.
Since then I have reinstalled and decided not to do the USB3 stuff ( KextBeast , FakePCIID ) or the manual edits of the KextsToPatch. My thinking is that "I would rather have less usb2 and a bootable system than current state".

Also I added both of the ethernets as I expect to use both connections on the board. Is that ok?

Anyway when I boot to the UEFI on the ssd it starts to load and then goes to the apple screen and immediately reboots...

I am able to boot of the USB then click the upper apple logo and pick an alternate boot disk and get back into the installed system. Though I have noticed when in the system following this boot I have no network - which i did before the install reboot...

Any thoughts?
