That flag does not help in my case. It's weird: The system boots properly right after installing the drivers and rebooting (without fixing permissions), however on the second and all further boots I get an immediate reboot / black screen and I can't even see an error message. Any idea? I'm using clover by the way and have the ASUS GTX 960 STRIX.

I can confirm that a -no-zp boot flag fixes the black screen on boot and sleep/wake function so far. Does anyone know exactly what this does? I can't find it on any list of known boot flags at all.

What worked for me was installing using Stork's guide here:

Here's the step by step way to update for those who aren't using the nVidia Maxwell graphics cards:
:ch: Repair Permissions using the Disk Utility on the drive to be updated;*
:ch: Backup your current installation using Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper;
:ch: Download the latest MultiBeast for Yosemite;
:ch: Download the Software Update or the Combo Update and run it to update to 10.10.3;
:ch: Re-boot;
:ch: Run MultiBeast for Yosemite and just select your audio driver to install and, optionally, the 10.10.x TRIM patch;
:ch: Re-boot; and
:ch: Repair Permissions again.*
...

But before the last reboot add -no-zp bootflags. Without them my computer will black screen upon waking from sleep and restart. I updated to the most recent drivers and security update as well which actually helped with some fan noise of the card as well. Try updating to/reinstalling the latest update, and follow this guide with the additional bootflags and see if it works.

So far everything is working great. Haven't tried a full restart yet, but it wakes perfectly so i'm going to put that off as long as possible :p

Hi!
Anybody with working zotac GTX 960 with 4gb of vram on yosemite 10.10.3?

Just wanted to step in for one quick second and ask two quick questions I haven't seen posted yet:

1. Anyone running Triple monitor with one of these cards or tested it yet?

I've bought ASUS STRIX-GTX960-DC2OC-4GD5 today, installed the drivers, removed nvidia stuff from CloverEFI - and set nvda_drv=1

I'm using triple monitor, at first I had some trouble getting the last monitor to work. But i still had some nvidia stuff in CloverEFI - got that removed. And it worked.

You either need 10.10.1 + NVDriver 343.02.01f01 or 10.10.2 + 343.02.02f01.

Also ensure that you boot with nvda_drv=1 .
What about GTX 950 with Mavericks 10.9.5? I can't seem to boot at all without having nv_disable=1 as boot args and i don't have full acceleration. I really need this to work so i could start my music productions.

Maxwell support didn't start until Yosemite with nVidia's web drivers. So, your 950 won't work in Mavericks.

Hey guys! Should the Nvidia GTX 960 work under Snow Leopard? Thanks :)

I want a new video card for my Hackintosh. I'm looking for the best that Snow Leopard accepts without issues but I'm not being able to find one.

PS: I'm not a native speaker, so excuse me for my English.

You may want to add cpus=1 in boot arguments in your Clover config.plist.
This is what I use to access both 10.10 and 10.11 with my GTX 960:
SMBIOS: iMac14,2
Boot arguments: dart=0 nv_drv=1 kext-dev-mode=1 nvda_drv=1 cpus=1
