Anybody know of a link for a standalone installer of Security Update 2015-004 1.0 for Yosemite?

Attempting my first X99 update. My X79 update from 10.10.4 was cake, thanks to this guide, but my x99 is getting stuck at the boot after installing the combo update at "PCI configuration begin". I've tried about every combination of boot codes available and did see the part of the OP about following the temp guide but I'm confused as to how much of that temp guide we need to follow because I've already got a working X99 setup?

I just tried updating to 10.10.5 and after reboot my monitors went to sleep as if the system had just shut off. Can't figure it out. Fortunately I did this update on a cloned drive so I was able to get back in using my original 10.10.4 install. I am using Clover btw.

I had a problem with a black screen when entering os x. I solved this by booting with nv_disable=1 and upgrading web drivers, HOWEVER, this was not enough! I still got the black screen and was really frustrated, but now I found the fix here, http://www.tonymacx86.com/graphics/161256-solving-nvidia-driver-install-problems.html

for me it was "Problem #4" which solved it, by modifing the "AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext" ! Note also that the kernel cache rebuilding was neccessary, did not work without it.

I did the update from the App Store and I cant boot even with safe mode. I did the verbose thing and this is where it stoped.

I think Im going to do a full clean install since I have been having problems since I updated to
Yosemite from Lion.

Hi all,

I already had Mavericks working fine (Windows 8.1 and Mac dual boot), including iMessage until 3 days ago I decided to update to Yosemite.

I created the MultiBeast USB drive and substituted everything in my USB Key and all the installation of Yosemite over Mavericks went fine, except for FaceTime and iMessage until I hit the App Store Update to 10.10.5 from 10.10.2 and all but headaches came to me since then.

I tried all different boot commands like -x, -f and different combinations of npci=0x2000, GraphicsEnabler=No, dv_disable=1, etc. but no one made me arrive to the login screen again except command -s. I did nothing at the command prompt (I could not delete any kexts nor run DiskUtility), so I just rebooted from there using command exit.

Once in Mac Os X Yosemite, the Photos icon was broken and the App Store showed the 10.10.5 update ready to restart. So, instead of clicking it, what worked for me was to fix permissions, download the combo update and run it, then inside the update restart the system. No freezes, everything smooth but lost audio, TRIM for SSD harddisk and disc recorder. I followed Storks' advice and run MultiBeast and repair permissions in Disk Utility again and everything is working stable now again.

Notes:
- This may break some of your Yosemite functions, like audio, TRIM and the nVidia Web drivers. So, being an Early Adopter is fraught with problems. Make sure you backup first.

...

:ch: Download the Software Update or the Combo Update and run it to update to 10.10.5;

I just want to thank everyone in this forum for your kindness and sharing efforts, specially Stork.

Next: Interested in making iMessage, FaceTime and Thunderbolt work again, as well as perhaps installing Nvidia drivers. Then learn how to use Clover for a later switch to El Capitan and update Windows to version 10.

My latest MultiBeast stable settings for this build:

OS X 10.10.5 Update (i5 4440 +GTX 960 MSI 4GB) WORKS

Just installed the update and booted with -v -x nv_disable=1 , after that I installed the 10.10.5 Nvidia web driver and everything was fine after the reboot.:)

edit 22:52 30-11-2015: audio not working :(
