Hi all,

I have installed Yosemite Vanilla on my Dell Inspiron 15 3521. Most of the things are working now. Some things are not. I will describe the steps I used and then I will list my problems. Hope you guys can help me fix this.

* Swapped the primary HDD of my laptop with a Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD (Sata III - Both Laptop Sata port and SSD)
* Shifted my HDD to a DVD Tray and installed Windows on it.
* I created Yosemite bootable using Unibeast and Install Yosemite.app
* In BIOS, set SATA Mode to AHCI, turned off Virtualization
* Booted into the USB using the flags -v dart=0 -f
* Using Disk Utility, created a Single Mac Journaled Extended partition and set GUID as partition scheme
* Installed Yosemite on that partition
* Rebooted into Yosemite partition using the flags -v dart=0 -f
* Booted into Yosemite Desktop. Graphics is working like a charm.
* Ran the Yosemite 10.10.5 Combo Update and rebooted.
* Ran Multibeast
* Didn’t select any DSDT
* Some options are selected from other tabs, but I don’t remember all correctly. (System Definition Mac Book Pro, Basic Boot options selected)
* But the problem is, If I run Multibeast all additional Kext should be installed in Yosemite>Extras. Right.? I’m attaching a screenshot of my Extras Folder. All the options I selected in Multibeast is missing.

The problems that need to be fixed are
* Audio
* App store Access
* USB Ports (If I remove and connect anything to USB ports after booting it won’t work. OSX kind of freezes, then I will have to reset manually)

MOST IMPORTANTLY

* SSD (I have applied the TRIM Patch using Multi Beast). Its a budget SSD, but it had a 7.9 Windows 7 Experience Index Rating. I ran Windows 7 flawlessly in this SSD without any lags or stutter. Huge performance boot in Windows after using this. But when I used it as a boot drive for my laptop, I couldn’t find any noticeable speed bump. It stutters and lags occasionally. Its not working the way its meant to be. I know Apple has dropped support for 3rd Party SSD’s (As if the SSD’s they use in Mac are made by them :p). But something is wrong… Am I missing something.?

I’m attaching some screenshots of my Chameleon/Boot.Org.plist, System Info.

Let me know if I miss anything or need any clarification.

This is the Disk Info by Chameleon SSD Optimizer

Not a desktop. Moved to laptop support.

Many of your questions can be answered by reading the FAQ.

Note: You should probably start over using Clover.

Thanks RehabMan for the quick reply. I was kinda expecting you. :)

I will go through the link to fix my issues. But on a quicker note, what do you think about the SSD being slow.

I'm using Xcode 7 to develop iOS Apps. When I use Story Boards, the system will start crying. :banghead:

I just want to make sure it isn't some mistake from my part. I know Story boards can be slow in general.

You didn't provide any details on the SSD. Manufacturer?

Yeah, I did. In the beginning.

Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD (Sata III - Both Laptop Sata port and SSD)

TRIM Enabled

MDX Controller I think (Not Sandforce Controller)

I would not consider the EVO a budget SSD. It is one of the better ones out there.

No problems with it here (I have a couple of them).

I said budget because of the price difference between PRO and EVO. But the SDD was a solid Upgrade to my Desktop. Swapped it to Laptop expecting the same performance, or perhaps better performance as OSX is much more tweaked than Windows. And OSX has been redesigned to support SSD's.

TRIM is enabled, Applied the Multi Beast TRIM patch, Plugged it in a SATA III Port.

Can't see why I'm not getting a solid speed boost. Any ideas RehabMan.?

Your stutter/lag is probably due to something else.

Besides the steps I did, Is there anything else I should do when installing OSX on an SSD.?
Anything I missed.?
