When I have AppleIntelE1000e.kext in other, I can not boot without usb. I have made sure that all bios settings are the same as the screenshots and as the op. I have found that when I delete it out of other I can boot fine. I have even re downloaded and tried again and same thing. What happens is when its booting I get 3/4 apple logo slow and then at 97% I get like 3 broken apples across the screen.

Do you have a second copy in /Library/Extensions or /System/Library/Extensions?

No change can not get booted. same as before.. :?:

I did not ask you to reboot and try again. I asked if you had additional copies of the AppleIntelE1000e.kext in /Library/Extensions or /System/Library/Extensions (and by that I mean on the system partition you installed to).

If you do (or did) you need to remove them, sudo touch /Library/Extensions or sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions (or both) and then sudo kextcache -Boot -U / and then reboot and try again.

I did not have a copy of it anywhere other than in EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other. I ran those commands it said successful and to reboot. Rebooted and came up same as before. I feel like its something silly that I have missed up. Thanks for your continued help!!

I have been trying a few different things. One thing that Got it to boot was to take AppleIntelE1000e.kext out of EFI/Clover/Kexts/Other and Install it with multibeast. Booted fine waited for 10 minutes ( tested internet, and sound Which was working fine ) and then rebooted to see if it was a fluke. Sure enough on the reboot I had the same problem where it will not boot.

Just thought I would update in case anyone else runs into this.

Thanks! Looks like a good option and better then having to pull a cable.

ok I have tried to figure this out and done some quick searches on this site with not so much luck...
when I try to run kextbeast it says it is damaged and needs to be sent to the trash...

any ideas?

Thanks for the guide.

I haven't built a computer in about 3 years, so had to play a little catch up with all the new hardware.

Picked up a NUC5i7RYH, thought i could add a m.2 wifi card didn't realize m.2 supported different hardware types, first mistake. After that figured i'd get an m.2 SSD so I picked up a SM951 NVMe, second mistake, should have gotten the ACHI version. I really wanted the NVMe for the faster random reads

Anyways, have a sata SSD for now and 16 gigs of ram, the setup went smooth.

Everything seemed fine except for the misreporting of the CPU info and also having problems with the screensaver not coming on and/or my monitors going to sleep. This annoyed me enough to try and fix the prob. Figured it had something to do using the Macbook Air as the product name instead of something like the mac mini.

I used these settings to switch over to the Macmini7,1 and that solved my screensaver / display sleep problem and also the cpu info is now reported correctly.

I'm having trouble with wakes after sleep. Is this part of the issue you were having?

Where did you enter this information?

Thanks

I'm not sure whether that's talking about KextBeast or the kext it's trying to install or another kext that was previously installed. Does it indicate what file the problem is with?

You can download KextBeast or any individual kexts again. If it's having trouble with one that's already installed, you can just use Finder to move it to the trash, and then use KextBeast to install a new copy.
