The machine is a Lenovo D30, it has 24 Cores and 256GB RAM, it has twice the cores of the biggest Mac Pro and 4 times the maximum memory!
At the moment the only OSes it runs are Windows and Linux, please help me getting El Capitan to run on it! Not being able to run OS X on it is a shame, If I succeed, it will be one of the biggest hackingtoshes ever.

The farest I could get is right after the bluetooth controller transport message I get a Prohibited sign with scrambled characters, it looks like a "still waiting for a boot device" message though,

What I have tried to address this issue so far:
- cpus=1 option
- nv_disable=1 option
- -x option
- -f option
- using OsxLowMemFixDrv-64.efi
- using OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi
- using OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi
- I tried all the USB ports
- tried the 8x USB 2.0 ports and the 4x USB 3 ports

I tried to start the install from an internal HDD I prepared with ./createinstallmedia, and I'm still getting the exact same issue.

Guys, if I succeed to install El Capitan, I will write an entire guide with all the details so anybody with a similar machine car install OS X.

Any idea?

I am far from being able to give intelligent advice on this one, but to start with the basics: Do you know what chipset it uses? Do you know what GPU? Do you know if it has Intel or third-party USB or SATA controllers? (Or does it use something else entirely like SCSI/SAS for storage?)

Hi, thanks for your answer :)

Yes it's a machine based on the C600 / X79 chipset
SATA controllers: C600 / X79 and Intel C602
GPU: GeForce GTX 770

X79 usually requires the boot arg npci=0x2000 or npci=0x3000 to boot successfully.

The GeForce 770 should just work, but you can try nv_disable=1 until you get through the install if not.

Worst case if you cannot get a USB install drive to boot, you can try putting a SATA drive in a different machine, run UniBeast to the SATA drive instead of to a USB drive, then put the SATA drive back into the main machine and boot to it and run the installer. So you'd have to partition the drive like 9 GB for UniBeast and the rest in a separate partition to install to; you'd be installing to the same drive that the installer is on, just installing to a different partition.

I succeeded to install Yosemite (with Chimera) but it's El Capitan I target, I wrote a guide here:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...-guide-lenovo-d30-rev-4354-a.html#post1140882

You are correct about the npci=0x2000 option, it is required to work on the machine, the fact that Yosemite works may help to validate some facts about the requirements to get OS X working here.

I tried the install from the internal disk and got the exact same error as before, I'm not sure what to try next to fix this "still waiting for a boot device" issue. Maybe I should wait a bit for Clover to mature a bit more?

after reading many different posts on here and on insanely, I've noticed most x79 users have to do an upgrade from Yosemite to El Capitan. The clean install method doesn't seem to work yet. But I have no experience in dual cpu installs.

thanks for the info farcry84!
