Which, if any are the differences on our hardware between the Osxaptiofix and Osxaptio2fix? BTW I'm going to start from scratch and do a fresh install with your guide and hopefully have a much more stable system. I'm thinking of switching my old wifi/BT card for the one you have listed. Does it recognize the 5ghz frequencies, because my current setup doesn't recognize my 5ghz networks. Thank you for your contribution!

There used to be limitation for Kernel Block Allocation at 64MB in Osxaptiofixdrv64 which was not enough in some cases (for me it was when I tried to install an eGPU based on GTX750ti with webdrivers).
So Clover Devs created a file without limitation : Osxaptiofix2drv64.

But at Clover rev3262 Devs decides to put the limitation at 128MB which is OK in most cases.

You can just try Osxaptiofixdrv64 if you have a standard configuration, and you can still switch to v2 if get an error about Block Allocation et the beginning of the boot.

Awesome. I was also wondering, in minihack's thread you mentioned problem with using Clover Configurator for the config.plist. What would you recommend for editing the file for personalizing on my machine (such as serial number).

Here are some notes that i have observed..

if i installed yosemite on the nuc first and then upgraded to el capitan it mostly works.. the serial number is missing.. but most everything else works.. its not totally straight forward. but i have been able to get it to mostly work..

if i install el capitan fresh.. it gets all the way through the verbose mode , right before the install screen comes and the wheel just keeps spinning in the upper left hand corner..

i have made video and put it on youtube..

let me know if the quality is good enough to view...

it's very close..

thanks for the help

I had similar if not the same problem - I was a bit clumsy and did something wrong while preparing an install USB. Try to be patient and follow instructions from the #1 post to the letter. For safety, I have used InstallESD method which is a bit more time consuming but it pays off. Also make sure to use the most recent Clover, use Clover settings from the #1 post and after that carefully put all necessary files into EFI/Clover. Remove SSDT-4.aml from the EFI/Clover/ACPI/Patched. Then make sure that you boot from the UEFI USB drive, not from your hard drive.
You will end-up with a stable system.

Today, I did some house-keeping work on my NUC. First, I have adjusted BIOS exactly to the values proposed by Sebinouse. Then, I have replaced all files in EFI/Clover/ACPI with the files from the package in post #1. Note that there are more files and are easier to add and remove if necessary. I had to remove SSDT-4.aml because I am using different Wi-Fi card which works out-of-the-box.

My efforts have paid-off - after a re-vamp, my system runs now indeed smoothly. Thanks Sebinouse for useful guide and attached files.

I had troubles with CC because it adds patches (true or false) by itself ... make sure you have this in your config.plist and everything should be OK :

KernelAndKextPatches
Asus : Yes (MSR 0xE2 bit 15 locked)
KernelPM : Yes (MSR 0xE2 bit 15 locked)

i have made video and put it on youtube..
That pretty clear thank you !
I'll investigate further to understand what is going on ... but I have no idea for the time being ...

Did a fresh install and after all steps rebooted. I get the usual apple load bar, which progresses very slowly and once it gets to the end just sits there, any ideas?

Hey ,
when creating the install disk using unibeast, is version UniBeast 6.0.1 ok?

also , for the nuc do we need to inject intel graphics, using unibeast? i just selected usb, el capitan, and then let it build..

it seemed pretty simple..

also, was wondering if there was some documentation around about the config.plist file and what options the nuc should have in it.

thank you so much for all your work, if i can be of any help please let me know

Noticed that my bios was way out of date so I did an update and rechecked the settings. Afterwards the OS X booted properly!
