How to Install OS X Mavericks using Clover

I know this may refer to laptops but I think I may be having a brain fart. I thought I was able to create a clover Mavericks install USB and be able to patch the mach_kernel to boot haswell laptops. I created a USB using this guide with a 10.9.4 and 10.9.5 Install OS X Mavericks app downloaded from the app store but it does not seem to put the mach_kernel file on the USB for me to patch.

I tried copying the mach_kernel from my 10.9.5 desktop to the USB and patching it but I still get stuck in the reboot loop.

Am I missing something or did they change something?

Thanks for the help!

Hi guys,
I followed this guide, i created Clover Bootloader and restart to boot but had problem in this step:
4. When Clover boot screen is visible, choose Boot OS X Install from OS X Install OS X Mavericks
5. The system will then boot into OS X Installer
I choose Boot OS X Install from OS X Install OS X Mavericks , a ton of command lines run, and then restart... But... Clover boot screen appear AGAIN, NOT boot into OS X Installer...:crazy: . I tried to press choose Boot OS X Install from OS X Install OS X Mavericks AGAIN. But still not boot into OS X Installer.
There are any mistakes I have done? :(:(
My System: MSI H61M- P20, Pentium G860, VGA Sapphire 5570.

All I can say is Great Guide.. Straight forward and worked like a charm on my new CPU/MB combo... After a dozen attempt with my Asus Maximus V Extreme and 2600K I got so frustrated I just decided to go an grab a board and CPU you recommended Tony (Gigabyte Z97X-UD7 TH and I7 4790K) Installed with Chimera as I was a little nervous but filled the Test drive Clover on a USB and it worked so I followed those directions and BAM Im live...

I Will say the only thing Im disappointed with is my Boot time, Went from power button to desktop in about 20 seconds and now Im at 55 seconds... Oddly I have nearly doubled my GeekBench scores and am no longer stuck at 3.4ghz but Heck I love hacking my system to do whats it wasn't intended to do! Kudos TonyMac and everyone else who has contributed and helped develop this community!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,!!!!
Rock Solid and Very Very Happy :)

I am assuming that this guide will not change much when "El Capitan" drops in five days?!
You're behind the times. There's the Yosemite Clover installation guide in the Yosemite Desktop Guides forum section and the El Capitan Clover Installation Guide in the El Capitan Desktop Support forum section (which supports the Public Betas and the GM release).

Shortly after the official release of El Capitan, tonymacx86 will publish his guides for "Updating from Yosemite to El Capitan" and "How To Install OS X El Capitan Using Clover."

How do i get my EVGA GeForce GTX 950 to work? My board is the Gigabyte z97x UD5H with i7 4790k.

The nVidia Maxwell chipset cards (like your 950) only work in Yosemite or El Captian and only with nVidia's web drivers. See my GTX 750 Ti installation procedures in my signature block for more information.

I've been trying Clover v5xxx and it was running 10.9 as before until r5103. Then with r5106, I had to update my old theme (icons were not displayed anymore, apparently a size/format that's no more supported), plus no more black background color.
I've hoped things would eventually get fixed but from r5113 up, it didn't, until current r5119 that won't even boot except without cache and with NVidia drivers disabled.
So my advice to anyone still using 10.9: stick to Clover r4961 or r5106. :headbang:
