You need access to a Mac or working hack to download OS X.

Although it is possible to purchase a Snow Leopard DVD from Apple and install that just as a stepping stone to more recent versions, it is easier to borrow a Mac from someone you know.

Requirements:
- Clover bootloader
- config.plist must have the four AppleHDA patches from my config.plist in the repo
- AppleHDA.kext must be vanilla
- CodecCommander.kext installed to /S/L/E: https://github.com/RehabMan/EAPD-Codec-Commander
- AppleHDA_ALC283.kext installed to /S/L/E

- DSDT patches "IRQ Fix" and "Audio Layout 12", with layout-id changed from 12 to 86.

Hi Rehabman,

I can't get the audio card to work. I have followed everything exactly as it is, but system does not recognize the audio card. Any clue what is wrong? In comparison to the last time I got it working, I upgraded straight to the latest version of Yosemite - before installing CodecCommander and AppleHDA_ALC283.

Current u430 AppleHDA_ALC283 uses layout-id = 3.

How are you going to download OS X for installation within VirtualBox?

Seems to me you need a Mac or hack for that too.

OS X is available only from the Mac App Store. And that is available only from a Mac or working hack.

I download a el capitan installer though virtualbox and it shows in my launchpad.

Also, can el capitan be put in the dell inspiron 7000 7537 through the unibeast method, as it seems to be simpler.

But how did you install OS X on VirtualBox in the first place?

It can only be obtained from the Mac App Store, which requires a Mac or working hack.

FYI: There are issues with creating USB installers with a VM. You need real hardware to download OS X and create your USB installer.
 
ok ill try to get access to a mac, would it be something i could do at a best buy? or is the part where i need the mac part fairly lengthy?
