First - thanks for the detailed guide. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute to the knowledge base some day.

Setup:
I have two HDs in my PC - one is for Windows 7 Pro, the other for Mac OS (El Capitan).
Both disks have EFI partitions.
The Mac OS disk has Clover installed on both the EFI and the main partition in case using one or the other is favored.

Everything is installed and working properly on the Mac side - USB, Sound, Ethernet, etc.
However I cannot boot without the USB device in place and since I have an ASROCK mobo - here I am.

I followed the guide closely but ran into a problem (or two).
I booted in Linux (easy!).
When I ran the bootmgr, I could not see how to specify which disk/partition should be added to list with the 'efibootmgr -c' command.

Here is a screenshot from Windows 7 just for reference:
Disk 0 is the Mac disk, Disk 1 is Windows

I don't see any of the EFI partitions. (I am able to mount the Mac EFI in El Capitan)
I recognize Windows Boot Manager, CD/DVD Drive, USB, Mac OS X, UEFI: Generic Flash

I'm not sure about "Hard Drive".

Can you please offer some assistance?

You have made this way more complicated than it needs to be.

2 different instances of Clover on the same drive ? Not needed. Remove one.

Then unplug your Windows drive.

Then follow the guide.

Alternatively, unplug all existing drives, do a test install to a spare/unused drive, run the procedure and see if it works.

OK, thanks - I'll try unplugging the main drive and see how it goes.
I thought I saw that suggestion in one of the guides now that you mention it, I just didn't realize it
was necessary.

Regarding the two Clover installs - I know I don't need both, but I wasn't sure which one was 'required'.
So this brings me to another related question:
Can I leave Clover on the main (Mac OS) partition on my HD, assign it for booting, and then delete the EFI partition altogether?

I personally would go the opposite and leave it in the EFI partition, which is where it should be and what this guide assumes.

Also, I removed the extra EFI folders from the main Mac partition and left it only on the EFI partition.

Please help... i got the same problem with my Asrock z77 Extreme 4. I try to boot linux with my usb, but when i press F11 for boot menu i got 2 boot option with my linux usb one is "usb" and other one is "uefi". i cant choose the "uefi" it keep return me to boot order screen, and when i choose "usb" i can go through the GRUB bootloader then i when i pick Start Linux Mint, i got my pc blackscreen no signal from monitor and restart. What should i do ???
