No audio device - GA-X48-DQ6 with ALC889A

System runs with 10.10.5

I have no audio device listed in the system report.

I used easybeast with ALC885/889a selected.

Display works. Ethernet works. Hard drive visible on desktop and accessible.

I'm just missing the audio device and my DVD drive which is connected to the PATA connector on the Mobo. I'll try to resolve that after my audio problem.

I saw that post, but sadly it all looks Greek to me. I need more detailed instructions that whatever is there. I'm assuming those steps listed in post 1 have something to do with editing some sort of plist file, but I'm lost as to where to begin or what to do.
