Built-in Sound not working in El Capitan (mobo GA-P55M-UD2)

I did not choose the lay-out, I understand it was defined like that by the person that created the DSDT and published it in tonymac site.

Your computer, your responsibility to know what you're putting into it...

dsdt is from the tonymacx86 DSDT Database. With Snow Leopard, audio_id was the hex of the codec device_id. MultiBeast (starting with 10.8) edits the installed dsdt to Audio_ID = 1 when the patched AppleHDA.kext is installed. The DSDT Database was not updated.

I cannot get audio to show up unless I use rootless=0 bootflag. Even after patching the kext using Toleda's patcher, if I remove the bootflag, the audio devices will disappear. I have to re-add the bootflag, and re-patch the kext.

Probably best to patch native DSDT... IMHO.

rootless=0 has no effective with the 10.11 GM, and no effect with later 10.11 betas.

It was an early beta mechanism, now deprecated for csr-active-config.

Thanks a lot Toleda for the clarification.

Hello Toleda.I followed your instructions: I changed the layout Id in the DSDT, reinstalled the native AppleHDA.kext, deleted any HDA enabler kext and re ran the ALC clover patch command. It worked well in both 10.10 and 10.11, since I was able to select the built in audio connectors versus the USB sound device.

I understand that, and I read that sticky after installing El Capitan, however, after reading the thread months ago I followed the advice of it to remove the rootless=0 boot flag. Upon doing so (and restarting), I lost audio. I repatched using Toleda's patcher as I had done before, yet no-go. I re-patched again with the rootless=0 flag, and, voila, sound. Just to be sure, I just removed the flag on 10.11 GM, and, again, I lost audio.

I cannot explain it, but that is exactly what happens.
