I will await yoru answer before even thinking of downgrading my BIOS
I'm not sure what this number means: 887_v100201.
Use search to find BIOS downgrade precedure.
887_v100201 is the audio codec and version.

Many thanks for clarification

Unfortunately downgrading my BIOS will remove CPU compatibility so its not an option. I've instead just used a spare USB soundcard to overcome the problem.

Thanks for all your help!

Not sure if zipping the files is the correct way of going about this... if not I can post the images directly. Thanks in advance!

1.Accidentally updated to 10.10.5 upon update I lost all audio devices. I have been able to roll back to 10.10.4 by installing over 10.10.5. I tried multibeast numerous times with the 898 driver install using various ID’s and random options with no success.

Not related to the problem. Likely, the motherboard is not what you noted.
IOReg/DCPIManager says your codec is 892, not 898. Try MultiBeast/ALC 892.

I'm a bit embarrassed to be honest.... Looking back through my emails I have multiple versions of my mbo. I wanted the 5, but it was out of stock and ended up with the 4.... feelin kinda "special" right now. :banghead: Thanks!

Howdy,
Okay. giving it a go, i hope I'm doing it right  :)

Sound works finally from "Built in speakers" but doesn't recognize headphones or other ports anymore.

PC specs:
Yosemite 10.10.5 | ASrock Z97 Killer | Latest bios update | ALC1150 |GTX 970 from Gainward| i5 4690k

Multibeast selection: Realtek ALC1150 / Audio output 2 - also changed mac model to imac 14.2 i think

From Post #1 Ive tried solution 1 + variations on it.

Thanks a bunch for looking into this!
