Hello everyone, hello Tonymacx.

I'd like to know if there a way to modify the installation files for maschine 2.0 music software so it will install on 10.6.8 (by editing the distribution file of the installer for example)

I had my mac pro 1.1 upgraded to mavericks in the first place (using tiamo boot.efi) but I couldn't install the new Graphic card, I tried everything, it wasn't recognized.

So I went back to 10.6.8 and I was wondering if installing the maschine 2.0 software was, by any way, possible.

Thank you very much !

Gormanoo.

If this application requires Mavericks to run then you would be better off using a Mac or hack that would successfully run Mavericks. The Mac Pro 1.1 is blown into the dust with a modern Haswell i5 processor with16GB RAM. You would find even an i3 and 8GB RAM sportily proficient in comparison. The intel HD4600 graphics may be quite enough to drive your monitor.

Hello Adrian, thank you for your answer :)

I'll try to add another graphic card (cheapest solution for me) but if it really won't work, I'll go for a new mac.

Have a good day,

Morgan

Here is a link to known OS X working graphics cards (within earlier buyers guides). Remember that this list is for PC hardware models - using these directly on Mac Pro will result in no visible booting screen on your monitor until you get to the desktop - disable the pre desktop login.

There is a wealth of Mac Pro information available from the MacRumors forums. See the Macs section in red:

You might find that a basic GT610 may work with Mavericks on a Mac pro 1,1 - but do some research on this before buying.
